  1. Hey i see you have dragons of different sizes in one enclosure, i have one female and two much smaller males (at least i think) and have been wanting to put them in the same enclosure but dont want it to cause any drama. the enclosure would be 1200x90x90 or so would that be too small for three WD's?
  2. where did you acquire this moonlight? :smln:
  3. the breeder said two months and a bit? there were 4 from the same clutch as i understood it and all varied in size immensely. she wasn't the biggest or the smallest. glad to hear that she looks healthy .. shes quite tame but shy... shes great
  4. ok cool thanks a low black female l.g it is.. their ment to lick their nose all the time right?
  5. just one more.. i chose her for those orange spots on the tail. hoping it will spread
  6. ooohhh i see so were measuring the overall temp inside the tank, i thought you had to be really cleaver and measure the temp of the floor since they lie on it. silly me okey dokey then thats easy enough, i should even have a spare lying around..SO picture time.. glass is dirty from me pressing up against it watching her lol
  7. i have been able to cultivate my own mealworms but not crickets, they have proven to be very tricky. :nilly: i was going to "invest" in one of those books that are on TM. but i can get a hold of any crickets to start me off atm. but now im stealing their heat pad for the gecko , im not sure how il regulate the temp for day and night, for crickets i was using cardboard in between the container and heat pad.. but lifting it and adding cardboard wont be that easy with a 60cm tank..
  8. thanks this has been instrumental in my decision to get a leopard gecko :happy2: hopefully in the next couple days :happy2:
  9. umm stupid question time... does the heater stay on at night for a tiny "still green" RES turtle?
  10. excuse my ignorence.. the plastic bag is for..slowing thee air down? im not incubating nothing just got the curiosity of a 3yr old.. :nilly:
  11. HA! thats funny our frog tank evolves too! must be somthing about the frogs that alters there surroundings, i want to get a oblong tank for my frogs n set it up in a similar way so they cant hide from me all the time.. but only dreams are for free..sigh... while im ranting...did anyone see the BBC LIFE doco on reptiles lastnite on prime?? frogs that turn themselves into a rubber ball and roll down mountain sides to avoid predators, lizards that fight some snakes and play dead for bigger ones, geckos that are so water resistant that they cant SINK !!!! WOW... yup theres a reason i love reptiles and amphibians :bounce:
  12. oh ok thats reassuring there just cheeky lil buggers  hehehe thanks
  13. sorry should have been more specific  he (at least i thinks its a he) sits out of the light, in the shade, not directly above it..
  14. iv got a 10% but.... i dont think the WD likes it.. he spends most his time above it... wondering maybe if they prefer a lower UVB????
  15. Well we got a juvenile water dragon about a month ago :happy1: and are redecorating his enclosure. Fake plants are not for me so just wanting some advise on what plants are safe/not safe for the little guy. Any input would be helpful

  17. oooo i have frogs too!!just 3 atm, And im no ID but..... and yes the plant in the middle is almost dead but it provides a excellent breeding ground for teeny weeny flies.. eventually it will be replaced..once all the tadpoles morph and i have only bigger frogs. :bounce:
  18. i used cement mixed with PVA instead of grout.. worked fine. also i found that using shaped poly, like the type you get when you buy a tv or somthing, makes making interesting shapes easier. also Hollywood fish farm sells poly sheets.
  19. HA!! thats cleaver! i would have not thought of that ID good one!! AND bird barn also have water dragons! i want one!!...... but cant afford it... :nilly:
  20. @ hes probably just seeing red  matching paint is NOT my fort-ay  ...i was going for australian desert orangey red..but yeah..hhaha and once the sealer was on i wasnt turing back

  22. The set up i just posted up, took me three weeks to build, but thats mainly time spent on the background, it cost ROUGHLY $300 to build including wood glass paint cement sand ect ect. however i started out with old fish tanks i got off friends for 10/20 bux, plenty on Tard Me and once i had a spare this and that i built that up, HEEEAPS of stuff on the net... i found this site extremely helpful http://www.lizard-landscapes.com/index.html.. i dont know if thats going to encourage him or put him off. but i had heaps of fun building a tank for my lazza, im not too sure wether he likes it yet  . hes been "sulking?".. really inactive.. but i heard thats what some reptiles do when they deal with change..? I.D can you shed some light on that?
