    Anyone? These are the units in question; http://www.wonderworldpetcentre.co.nz/s ... =4&search= was best I could do sorry, Dymax website doesn't seem to want to work. Doesn't necessarily have to be this brand, but am after a 60cm unit of some description with feet, like what these http://www.trademe.co.nz/pets-animals/f ... 515581.htm (which are an option), as the tank is rimless. Doesn't need to be overly bright as the tank is low-tech and is housing species, plants and fish, which don't like bright light anyway.

    Nah man, you are definitely going to have to make something, or buy something like an exo-terra terrarium with a pre-built lid, They really are excellent escape artists. The glass, as far as i'm aware, filters out any UV light so there will be no benefit other than the warmth being given off (if any). This is where the lid come in as many are composed using mesh, which the UV rays can penetrate through, as well as the heat.

    Hey Will, looks good. I would recommend adding more climbing structures, ie wood, branches etc, although the frogs you've got (which look to be green and golden bell frogs, Litoria aurea) aren't as arboreal as other species so you don't need to overdo it. I would also add some plants, Bunnings, Mitre 10 mega etc stock a good range of small potted ferns and other plants which look quite nice. This just gives the frogs a few more hiding places. You are also going to need to make yourself some sort of secure lid, as frogs are excellent escape artists and are sure to get through the current one you've got. And a light will also be benificial if you can, as they require UV light and enjoy basking. Just make sure it isn't so close as to dry them out or burn them.

    What I was thinking, was maybe after a certain of time, it may not be able to adhere very well when you go to use it or may come unstuck or something? I dunno, it was just a thought and before I did use it I thought I should check first

    How long does silicon last when unopened? I need to patch up a tank of mine that is in the process of being set up. I have a tube of silicon I purchased roughly a year ago for another project but never got around to using it. Tube is still unused and unopened, will it be safe to use or should I chuck it and get some fresh stuff?

  24. Seeding media questions

    Firstly, was just wondering how long it would take to seed some sponges with bacteria if I put it into an existing, fully cycled tank? Secondly, do the sponges have to be in the filter itself to become seeded, or can I just sit them anywhere in the tank and achieve the same results?
