  1. Question Once the Ammonia and Nitrites drop to 0.00 should i then do a 100% water change ? or is that a waist of time and money.
  2. Come to think of it will this open a new bag of worms ? as in as soon as i turn the lights back on will the algae come back in full force ?.
  3. lights have been off for 3 days now and algae is starting to subside. will I still see the gas release ? Todays tests results. How are they looking guys ? normal ? pH 8.4 ammonia 2.0 ppm (mmg/L) nitrite 5.0 ppm (mmg/L) nitrate 20 ppm (mmg/L)

  5. Well after dislocating my right shoulder Friday night and spending over 4 hours in hospital. I managed to get my partner today to do a few test for me. The Diatoms as pretty much taken over my live rock i have pulled off any hair algae that started to form. all scraps have been collected up from the bottom of the tank. Tested Ammonia this morning its sitting between the shades of 4.0 - 8.0 ppm (mmg/L) im going to be doing a 20% water change so hopefully that will help bring it down. SG: 1.024 pH :8.2 Ammonia: 4.0 - 8.0 ppm (mg/L) Nitrite: 1.0 ppm (mg/L) Nitrate: 10 ppm (mg/L) So how am i looking guys Thanks

This is the bottom of my tank should i be cleaning this up or wait for it to die off? How do you think it looks? Am I on track ?
  8. Thanks, I’ll do some redecorating this weekend when I do a 20-30% water change and pop a pic or 2 up. Is an island layout better or can I put it hard up against the back. I understand this will make the back almost impossible to clean / scrape.
  9. Sorry just realised i had not posted any pics of my rock-scape so here is a late update. Let me know what you think. there is approx 30kgs of rock in the display tank and 10kgs in the sump. THE SACK Damn this stuff is not cheap haha And the my tanks rock-scape you cant tell from this photo but the rocks are placed almost like an island with nothing touching the front or back only the sides.
  10. Awesome got the foam to stop with a bit of filter mesh. Now to keep an eye on the water quality
  11. Big help thank you Puttputt i have places some filter wool so its now above the water level in the sump that has stopped the foaming so at least the foam wont overflow.
