  1. I have 4 of them in a 180L Juwel and they hide about 98% of the time. Theres about 20 other fish in there, which are 2 Madagasgers and the rest are Head n Tail lights, green eyed rasboros, Glo Light Tetras, a small red tailed shark and Kuhli loaches. All fish are smaller than the clowns except the Madagasgers. I know they are better in larger groups (but thats what the fish stores say about most the fish) I just hoped 4 would be enough Do I need to get more Clowns to get them active? Or are they spooked by the other fish? I would just get more except its starting to get a few too mnay in there than I would like
  2. Hi all. I have the Vision 180L http://www.juwel-aquarium.de/en/vision.htm?cat=10 # Regarding the carbon filter. Instructions say to change that once a week. Now when i had lots of big fish it used to get very poo-ey after one week, so I would change it that often. However now I just have little fish it really doesnt seem to get manky that quickly. Are we changing this thing on the basis of how manky it looks? Or is the "once a week" thing carved out in stone by the fish gods? Can I buy this carbon filter stuff in bulk somewhere? Seems a bit retarded to keep buying these special little packs from the LFS # I bought a blue fluro tube. Is that supposed to replace the tube at the front of the tank or the back? # Also...ummm, is my tank a bit K-Rap? I mean ...in terms of quality/efficiency of the filter system specifically. Its my 1st one and Im not sure if its decent or not Any unrelated tips on keeping this puppy running smooth will be loved and gobbled up
  3. Those links are fantastic! Thanks. I had been google searching for that sort of thing but without much luck, mostly on account of the fact I was completely oblivious to the existence of the word "aquascape". Spent out 3 hours last night poring over tank_porn and I thoroughly enjoyed it.... except I now have severe tank-inadequacy issues  (baboomkish olol) ....anyway I guess I'll just have to spruce mine right up ....and then get another tank for the lounge! .....one would loook good in my bedroom too ...both bedrooms sigh. what have I done
  4. Hey ...thanks. Updated Any good sites you can point me towards for this aquarium porn you speak of? At the moment Im constructing a theme around a destroyed WW2 German aircraft, hence my desire to keep it realistic rather than have a pink castle or naff stones or whatever in the corner ruining the tanks whole war-is-cool steez Kinda juvenile I know..... but then again I am a boy  Keen for other ideas for sure
  5. Thanks for that! They have some great looking large rocks that I will be soon checking out www.stoneworld.co.nz (for others info)
  6. Hi all All the stuff at my two local stores arent *quite* the sort of colour I am looking for. What are we able to use? I found some Yahtzee River stones which I think would look pretty awesome but Im not sure how easy they would be to keep clean as they are quite clunky (about the size of the old 50c peice). Currrently have those common "gold" stones and while they are pretty they make the tank look like a tank by not blending well with my rocks/plants. I want a really realistic setting. If you follow that Saw some shells at the local beach that would look ok too. Can you use these? What I mean is...would they be ok to use after washing in boiling water? What are the general parameters of do's and donts with stones/shells? Any examples/suppliers/ideas would be appreciated!
  7. Hey all I have the typical newb disaster story of getting sold way too many big fish, way too fast and losing half of them. I posted my story/for help on this on Aqaurium Central before finding this site. I wish fish stores were a bit more open and informative when it comes to selling set ups but I also feel like a bit of an idiot tbh....... as it just didnt occur to me to research what I was doing online. Instead I just fell for an Arowana at my LFS and then did everything I could to kell eeeet oops  Im now starting again with my JUWEL 180L and have a bunch of tetras to start this time, I'll be around here a bit asking pretty dumb questions. I hope y'all are patient
