hello all im after any info about shipping rather large cichlids the largest is 23cm i have thought about paying for them to get to me by a freight plane going to cost acouple of hundred but id rather pay that than risk a over night courier!!!! i have scored some heavy duty bags from auzzie my mum got them from an asain breeder as they just have the best fish supplys ever the bags are just under a metre high and about 40cm wide very thick safe bags has anyone ever shipped large fish through using a freight plane?????? please any help or info is great cheers :bounce:

we have one growing up in our baby tank i myself think they are quite freaky looking with there wee red eyes :evil: but my parnter loves it so it has to stay :roll:

hiya i have lots of kinds of africans in a 600litre we have electric yellows electric blue fryier dolphins loinheads auratus red empress kenyi livinstonii peacocks (gold) afras and acouple of malawi hybrids they all get on just fine although they are all males so theres no cross breeding or fighting!!! :bounce: :bounce: ive just finished my 700litre tank for my 3 nimbochromis venustus giraffe haps :lol: they are pretty cichlids but grow very big :bounce: :bounce:

oh buggar nasty fish lol i have them in there own tank but when i had the male in my big tank he was friendly as were yours massive?? do you know anyone else who has any??

my male is starting to colour up maybe something might happen soon then do you have any bubbas you would sell me of the venustus??? please

ok my females around 2-3 inches so maybe she might not be big enough yet :-? my males around 5 inches is it true that the males only colour up when a female is around :-? hows my empress's doing getting ready for there big trip tomo's :bounce:

i may be newish to african cichlids but i do no not to cross breed and mix in tanks with the same species!!! theres nothing worse than buying fish and them turning out to be hybrids :evil: just so others can make money!!!! makes me angry.. is amazing how many comments ya get from posting something on these sites !!!

hello where are you getting your big plecos from??? im after one my self to go in with my giraffe cichlids!!!

i striped my peacock cichlid this morning after carrying for around 22 days was amazing theres probably a good 40 fry :bounce: :bounce: mum was on the skinny side so now time towork on getting her into shape i put her back in and checked another female she also was carrying with about 20 fry with one that didnt make it what a great turn out for my first time of breeding cichlids :lol: whats the best thing to feed the young fry???

omg what an ending so sad bet he killed pascelle he couldnt have her so no body can i reckon he killed her i hope not how sad i cant wait till next season

yes he is in his own tank!!! couldnt risk him eating my malawis!!!!!!! feeders are good if they are kept by themselfs

yeah we tryed feeding ours earth worms but wasnt really into it!!! ours is about 27cm we buy around 10 baby gold fish only the retart ones that are no good for selling off our local fish supplier we put in afew at night and are gone within the morning once we put the rest of the gold fish in a holding tank in the birchers tank in the morning the holding tank was lifted off and all the gold fish had been eaten!!!! lol so the bircher and the ghost knife had a great feed :lol: but as the goldfish are not tropical they dont last to long are your birchers in there own tank ? we had to move ours has our cichlids were eating the goldfish to grrrr rty cut thin bits of steak our get ribeye they love it!!!
