Went downstairs this morning to find 2 baby mollies! Not to exciting i know, ad they are prolific but... WHAT THE HECK DO I FEED THEM? do i feed them in a seperate net? shopuld they be in another tank?

Lol sadly i got some "runts" with the neon lot... i feel sooooo sorry for them theres 2 and their really really tiny and there red stripe is all discoloured and sad-looking and they keep getting nipped in the fin by my old fish when they go to feed ... and another thing, should my mollies be breathing ai5r at the surface? normal? i would think my tank is aerated enough... but... :-?

Stopped off today at Tropical Blues (love the radio ad) and bought some fish: 3 Mollies (2 black one yellow) another 10 neons (no problem) OMG do mollies really need salt? Are they truly neon compatible? where do i get aquarium salt? cant i use househole iodine free salt? omg i feel so bad! Damn on-a-whim purchases... that yellow looked soooo good with the black!

I agree with the doctor, i used SERA nitrivec to cycle my tank and it woked fine, who'd want to cycle with guppies? That'll mean you might have to live with them in your tank! (ewwwww) , but then again i cant fgure out ammonia test kits :oops:

I was wondering if anyone uses HAGEN Ammonia Test, Product number A-7820? My tests are all comingout clear, but this confuses me... on the back of the booklet there are 6 colours ranging from white (0) to cream(1.2) to peach(7.3), and clear errr... doesnt fit into any of these... Presumably the water is supposed to turn white, bexcause there is a white and a creamy-white... gettng darker as you get higher ammonia levels, but does white represent clear? Geez im confused. My neons seem to be experiencing difficulty, from straight after being fed, to about 30 minutes after, where they have difficulty swiming and seem to be forced to float to the top, tail-end first. They try to swim back down, but are overwhelmed by the mysterious "current". It seems to severely stress them. In some cases they've been floating on their sides at the top of the tank, and ive had to shake (!) the tank to force them back down to swimming level. This is occuring with ALL my neons, but seeing as my tank is only neons thats not much of a consideration. Is this something that happens to all Neons? Is it because the food bloats them which forces them up to the surface? I wonder if its a sign of fin-rot or some other such disease?
