  2. Hey guys have got the gravel, and thanks, but still want some really fine sand.....with ph 7.0...any idea where can I get it? Have try the river sand of Placemaker, but still feel not fine enough
  3. Thanks guys for the advise, but what about the tank builder?
  4. I would like to setup a bigger tank, heard that the LFS gravel is very expensive, just wanna to know where can I get some cheaper one, with ph 7.0 in Auckland? and if I want to have some fine gravel, e.g sand in ph 7.0? or silicon? and the 4ft tank in Hollywood is about $180, is it cheaper to find a tank builder to build one? because I would like to have a tainted background one. Many thanks for answering the question
  5. the PH is about 7.1-2, and everytime got fish die I change water
  6. for spec of my tank pls go to this page http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewto ... highlight= thanks
  7. My tank have setted up for 4 months, the tank is healthy only occasion fish die because of wound. I do water change weekly, and keep monitoring PH, Ammonia and Nitrate by test kits but from last week a Coryfish looks funny it was floating in the surface without mouth parts and the scale was skeletonised it die in the night, then I saw a female guppy and a male guppy died in the next morning and only some little white spot in the mouth for the female. So I do a 10% water change but the next day I find a emerald eye tretra missing, and the other Corycat die, so I do a 25% water change in the next day, my habit was save the water for one night before drain into the tank, but in the time of change I find the body of a Zebra Danio. a Bristlenose and a emerald eye body. but the next morning that is today a Neon and a emerald eye have gone, and a male guppy have splitting fins is struggling now. What happen?
  8. I am using a Via Aqua 750, it is still running good, but if you wanna to good for a cannister filter you shouldn't under estimate the problems of primming, my one cause me 2 hours to priming it, therefore till now I still reluctant to stop and clean it. Despite the water flow became slower and slower.
  9. Hi, do you guys know how to keep the bunch plants healthy in a tank, if the lighting is consider to be enough. My one become yellow and smelt down in every 2 months, and I have to buy another to keep the tank nice. I have put the JBL roots Fertilizer for it already but the plant still not growing really well. Is it the problems of water is the water in the AKL area to hard for the plant and how to made it soft?? Thanks

    Hi guys

Thanks you guys for the prompt reply, The tank is really okay, Actually I have posted here before that asking do I need to buy a cannister filter extra, and some friends told me "don't buy it unless the old one had broke down". But the temtation was so big "it is on sales that time, lucky have bought it, it cost >$200 now" ,therefore I have a Via Aqua 750 for my little tank, and plus the Aquaclear 200, and I have put a flat big stone as background to slow down the current. Therefore it is okay. Actually the Guppies have babies, I use an hours catch them all out to a Hatching unit, but they just pass through the (gap) and go back into the tank and disappeared. Thought it have been some nice fresh food of the Rum Sorry there is no Panther Danio that is Leapord Danio, I just make it up By the way other then Hollywood, Jensen, Fishfin and 4 Seasons, any other FS is recommended. I read from the old post that a shop call Fish & Creeps, one in Remuera off Ramp???? another in Glen Innes? where are they? I cant find them in the yellowpage. Just wanna to visit them.......hehe

    Hi guys

HI guys, I have joined the forum in the middle of last month, but forget I say hi to all of you. Seems it is better to say it now, which the cycling of my tank have finish, and have stock of fish. I got a 91L tank, which is 24" x 12" x 18" Settlers Are 8 Guppys 11 Neon 5 Zebra Danio 2 Panther Danio 5 Emerald Eye 2 Bristle Nose 2 Pepper Cat 2 Golden Pencil 2 Petties 1 Blue Rum total 40 fish And I have keep fish for many years when I was a Kid. and thought my knew a lot, but this time I start it all again which I found that I am no different to a newbies. 20s fish have died because of Nitrite. Pity me that I just knew ammonia will happened in a tank in that time. After the first cycle (level of ammonis drop) have ended I rush to my friends home to get 15 guppys (she was a breeder) but all of them died in the night, plus 5 neon have gone. I was really sad and have over estimate myself. I am really sorry to the fish. But now the tank is really good and fish are living happily. And special thanks to Arron in Jensen, and other guys in Hollywood that help me a lot. Despite they recommend me to buy some more stuff haha
  14. I am using a Via Aqua 750, which in the in and out pipe there is a tap, just turn it to 45 degree, which 90 degree is off, the water flow will half. I am using this method to derease the flow rate.
