my fry are all doing well just need to find something to put over the inlet for the power head filter thing, and thanks everyone found some great advice by reading the threads can sit there for hours

I got 4 tanks and they can be annoying esp right by the bed The elithim i got is the quietest i have the tank filled nearly right up though i turn if off if they bother ppl Oh yay the days of the hang off filters are gone !~!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their help I have a fry tank set up i used water out of my other fish tank the ammonia is 0 so i got my baby fish in there 12 of them in a 22 litre tank, how many can I keep in there please? and the temp is 26 is that ok for guppies and platy how often do I feed them?? Also my other 2 tanks 2 foot 55 litre the ph is around 7 and the ammonia was yellow after 15 mintues so its gone !!!!!!! and my 50 ish litre jebo tank same readings so im stoked ! I have no idea what im doing breading my guppies But so far i have found out I have a tux red, a snake skin male, some females with colours in their tale, and some pink snake skins with orange tales etc HOw many fish can i have in my 55 litre tank I have about 34 is that too many??? Thanks for all your help I got evberything sorted now I will make sure i test water again tomorrow Should I keep taking some out?? thankssssss

Readings Jebo tank ammonia 0 !!!!!!! its yellow yay bad aaron gave them a bit of food just a small amount PH 6.6 2 foot tank ammonia i is still 0.5 I will do a small water change again and test it tomorrow Ph around 6.6 Now mr pleco I brought a small tank for my baby fish (silly i know but id rather have them in there if im gonna have 100s of fish aye Its only 22 litres, do I have to cycle that too??? or can I nick some water from my other tanks??? ty i will let you know what my tests are tomorrow I did cycle my jebo tank for at least 3 weeks but someone washed out the filters in the tap When this is sorted out and I do my weekly maintance How often do i change water and wash filter in bucket i got out of tank??? I love my fish lol

I think I have been over feeding also will my babies be ok for 3 days with no food? I will test again tomorrow and post here I shouldnt of change gravel and fitlers etc no undergravel filter thought ppl didnt use those much now I have 2 small aqua one filters in my jebo tank and in my 55 litre tank I have a elthim 2010 i just got that second hand thanks for your advice :lol:

Thanks heaps done the changes already I changed the gravel so thats not gonna help if I loose my fish I will live thank god they were cheap

no nitrate test kitt yet god i just brought the other 2 lucky i got them cheap and bristle nose are getting bottom feeder pellets and some cucumber tomorrow when I get one lmao To above poster i posted my results in aonther part My other tank no losses added fish every few weeks But i couldnt say no to 25 guppies some snake skin for ten bucks !

Right here we go first tank 2 foot standard size 55 litre 25 guppies (approx) 5 babies, 5 cat fish that i can see 5 neons Ph 6.6 ammonia 0.25 ( colour next to yellow which is 0 Tank cycled for 2 weeks added fish over another 2, wouldnt of put all those guppies in there but i got given some one dead catfish tank 2 jebo tank on stand curved glass (from memoery takes 4-5 buckets i will count litres tonight when I refill it after changing gravel ph 6.0 its yellow the lowest my ph has dropped down from 6.4 stock 10 platys, 10 guppies 10 noeos 5 cat fish ammonia again 0.25 Both tanks are well platned with good filtatrion and lights etc Is my ammonia a worry or will it drop down This tank was cycled for a month at least Thanks guys !!!!! you rock I will let you know how I get on with the new gravel Also can i put any more fish in my tanks or what?

Hi i dont really have anyway to dry it If i boil it wont it wreck the flourite?? one tank i am just added too the gravel so I will mix it with what I got and my jebo curved glass one im changing the lot grr Got to catch all the fish that will be fun lol

Hi well im nowthe proud father of 11 (approx) babies I can tell which are the platy babies and the guppy ones Why are some of the guppie babies more pink than the others??? a few guppies I have are like apricot colour snake skin with orange tales omg lol And how long before i will see the colour If i have 35 gupies how many babies will I have at christmas and ty for all your help and why have i got a oily like film on the top of my tank and ty

thanks i got the gravel they are droppin it off in the next few days I was a bit worried about the flourite as it said on some places on line that it can really cloud the water they said they have washed it well and it can go straight into the tank I will give it another wash? to be safe??? ty for ya help

hi thank you everyone they are bristlenose cat fish I they have white on their tails I did the water change etc man there was alot of poo and uneaten food ! omg Time to cut down feeding ill do the ph and when the ammonia test kitt finally arives I will post that too !!!! ty

Hi thanks for the help i did that changed half the water OMG so much rotten food etc from the tubiflex worms i been feeding them maybe I cut it into smaller bits??? And how many fish can i have in 2 foot tank its 55 litre I changed half water and put in stess coat hopefully my ammonia kitt is here tomorrow, ps wtaer looked fine till i messed it up cleaning it I have guppies and cat fish in there about 25 guppies, 5 babies and 5 catfish minus the one that died, omg it was only a skeleton !! PS my jebo tank with my 35 fish in is doing great theres 6ish babies in there, that was set up longer than this one Cross fingers all goes well for me my nan said not to feed them for a day is this right?? thank you so much for your help I have been reading the forum to pick up tips as well Enjoy your week also if anyone wants to make fish friends lol my email is [email protected]

lol not my fav thing to do either but its way cheaper than shop and the man has cleaned it was only used for 2 months so should be great

Its my fault if anything happens i keep changing filters and now brought more gravel etc and gonna change gravel bla bla I will take water out of tank thats good and put it in this one with the dead fish when I do the change and leave the filter I got a new filter for my good tank so i will leave the media out of the old one thats going in the tank with dead fish GRRRR and thanks everyone i go do it soon just doing something

OMG I WAS looking in my guppy tank and there is like 25 guppies in there 5 neons and 5 bristle nose cat fish, anyway its been set up for about a month I added the fish too early as the man gave me 25 guppies and the cat fish for ten bucks i didnt realise there was that many in there till I got home I dont have my ammonia test kitt yet so all i can do is test ph, is it possible that the bristle nose just died???? of natural causes One of my guppies were nose diving into the gravel and swimming up am I gonna loose the lot?? My other tank is fine should i do a big water change and add some stress coat ?? also someone was naughty last week and washed the filters in the sink i didnt know lol

lms thanks so much you been a great help to me is it ok to boil the gravel with the florite in it?? or should i just wash in hot water like you said let it dry out side?? god id hate to loose my fish im so attached to my babies

lol i have had guppies for one month maybe less, i got ten and then the man gave me about 2o when i brought another ten god knows how many babies i gonna end up with I ALREADY HAVE TEN BABIES that i can see !!!!!!! like poster above said get lots of plants, they grow and you can trim them and grow more bits etc

Hi im buying some second hand gravel i have icky 80s stuff I am getting a few buckets of black for both my tanks it has brightwater gravel and flourite is that ok to use second hand do I have to boil it?? how do i change the gravel just carefully take the old stuff out and add to it and replant oh what a mess lol also i brought a second hand elithm filter good one do i need to soak the sponge before i change it from the old one which is going in my other tank is that ok to do that?? sorry about all the questions my tank has been going for 2 months i have ten neons, ten platy, ten guppies and 4 cat fish and 5 babies also my plants are growing ok my ph is 6.2 last week it seem to drop a bit, i hvaent tested my ammonia yet as I havent got the kitt its on its way in the post I do weekly water changes and add stress coat Also thanks for helping :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

ty from what i have read the platies are the same i will get some more plants when i can i already have about 15 grrr hehe when my 2 foot tank is set up i will put a breeding net in there as my jebo is a half circile shape and it prob take up too much space but ya never know I will get one this week My platy is so fat it looks like its gonna burst !!!! hahaha
