  1. Great thank you. Just starting to get breeding stock. And create a 'fish shed'. Can post pics if people would like. Hows the HMPK & HM going? *Sorry to hijack your thread Brett.
  2. Can also raid the recycling bins on rubbish day. That is how I got my bottles  Coke company and Schweppes bottles are easy to remove the label from.
  3. I guess you could always use decap BBS. I agree, you do great results from BBS.
  4. Nice photos. Will lookforward to seeing the offspring.
  5. That interesting with your CT. He does have a split in his tail but it doesn't continue to the root. He's still pretty small in size, so will see if he develops much. At this stage he looks like he carries Double tail & Rose tail traits.
  6. Yeah from the same spawn as the HM males you have. I guess his parents could of carried DT genes. He could through interesting offspring. Will see if the split becomes more defined and the caudal tail has a non-serrated edge.
  7. Found this interesting link about Rose tails; http://bettaterritory.nl/BT-AABRosetails.htm I originally thought it was fin rot, but now I'm not sure. I guess time will tell. Will update photos in a few weeks time.
  8. Hi everyone just wondering what tail type this male fighter would be? I was thinking a Rose tail, but would like other peoples opinions. Parents were both HM. Thanks.
  9. People do breed them in small tanks like 30x30x20cm (LxWxH). But they move them to bigger grow out later on. So you might as well start with one.
  10. A 2ft tank is good to breed in; 60x30x30cm (LxWxH). And you don't need a filter, although that does encourage and provide good bacteria. You can always add a sponge filter once they have spawned and the fry are free swimming. You could even have it cycling in a different tank.
  11. This is my understanding; (anyone more knowledgeable please correct me)When a female fighter starts dropping eggs it is because she has been producing them to be ready to breed, but then has been waiting for to long and needs to get rid of them. Otherwise she can become egg bound and die. You may have to recondition her before reattempting to spawn them. -As you probably know if there is no embrace, then the eggs won't be fertile. Hope this helps.
  12. You could let her out. See how shes goes.
  13. It should be fine, I know someone who breed fighters in 3ft tanks. The fry shouldn't yet lost although you may have to spread the food around. They probably will grow faster with the more space, especially as they get older. The tank would also provide more places of refuge, for the female, until shes ready to breed and after shes bred.
  14. You can get one from me if you want. Just give me a PM.
  15. This might help ; http://bettysplendens.com/articles/page ... cleid=1417
  16. Congratulations David!! Enjoy being a father.
  17. Hi, yes i will ship at buyers risk and expense.
  18. Hi, yes these will be for sale soon. Just letting people know that these fish will still need growing out. There is a lot of size variation. Most of them have colored up nicely and most fins grown out, just need their body size to be grown. And please note that there is a limited number of females, so will try spread them out as best as I can. Thank you for your interest.
  19. Going pretty good. Need to divide more males. They haven't grown heaps do to time constraints. Some interesting colors coming through; yellow/copper(steel blue), platinum, blue, black/yellow, yellow & MG; greenish-blue/yellow,blue/yellow (like parents),light purple/yellow. Thanks.
  20. Yellow seam pleco might be, (L244)/ yellow seam flounder pleco, (Pseudolithoxus dumus). http://www.plecofanatics.com/gallery/sh ... &catid=500 Not sure what white spotted blue pleco could be. :-?
