There will always be a problem with deformities and genetic defects when you get indiscriminate breeders out there, that's why it is important to document the genetics as far back as you can,........ after all that's why incest is against the law.........

Hence the question about anyone breeding for specific colours...........

that maybe another way of saying too much inbreeding or a coverup for the recessive red gene also being tied to a susceptibility to leukemia or liver and kidney defects as well

I heard that it was more because of lack of genetic availability that it was advisable not to cross the lines

there is a train of thought that a type of leukemia is in the red line

I have been told not to breed red males with a red females straight ..

best to do a red girls with a yellow males

The reds I have seen have a very nice red old mans bearded nathing like the oranges ...

I understand that you can get different coloured Australian Bearded Dragons .. like normal (Dark Brown )

Light Orange, Yellow right up to a Dark Reds ...

If so, what are the chances of getting the different colours? Does anyone know who is breeding for the colours?

Also would anyone know, what the expected price would be for each colour?

If there is a difference at all in the cost ... ??

What would your opinion on plywood tanks for lizards??? Leopard Geckos to be exact with a glass pain for viewing??? They are so much more cost affective???

I crush the weet-bix till all very small add the honey till it is a crumble

mix and add a few drops of glycerin

No what you mean ...When I was younger I had a possum ( young ) and but in my big turtle room .

It was all right for about a week ...then one day went out to check on things and the turtles

had had a big lunch that day ... felt sorry for the possum

Reptile nut.....have you ever had any trouble with the blue tongues and beardies in same setup? I saw a vid of some bluetongues fighting recently (doing death rolls) and dammmmmm i never thought the bts could be so nato

Have had a few fight but just with the blues themselfs ..but have had no problems

with the rest ...so far ...

I have had Turtles for years and my good lady loves playing with them ...She has had 5 kids and

none have had salmonella from any of the turtles .

If you are realy worried then just keep you hand well washed and there should be no problems ...

True that, ah well. I'm not siding with MAF at all but I can understand kinda why they restrict imporation of animals. I mean, look what the possum, ferret, weasel,stoat, ship rat has done to our wildlife. They're just trying to prevent that happening I suppose. However, I reckon that most people on this site are very capable of successfully holding an exotic animal in captivity without causing nationwide disasters.
