  3. So I am working in Korea for six months and I went into a supermarket which had a small pet section (defiantly pet rather than food)... And they sell African clawed frogs there for 2000 Wong, which is about NZ$2.00 - they had albinos and red ones and they looked pretty cool.

There its apparently a massive aquarium/pet market in the capital which I am planning on going to. Perhaps see some cool animals and maybe for cheep gear for a marine tank when I get home.

  4. OH NO! I have 2x dead silver sharks and 3x deal blood fin tetras :-(

I am so upset with myself, I dont know what I am doing wrong. All the tests are comming back OK. I hope the tap water doesnt have too much chemicals in it, thats all I can think it is...

  5. Thanks for the advice guys, I was doing small regular water changes which were making no difference. Yesterday I did a 50% water change and added some algae killer chamical to the mix - seems to be clearer and fish are still happy. Will do another small water change after work today and just keep ontop of it.

  6. Its more a white merky at the moment, but a few weeks back i had to do a 70% water change as it was a thick green soup. There is high water flow with internal filters and i have been doing regular water changes. Iv had this tank for years and not done anything different which is strange. Do i have to spend up large and get a uv pump?...

  7. Hi there guys.

I have a four foot tank, external filter, planted with silica sand. Only has about 20 tetras in it but is continuously going merky... I have never had issues in the past with this and with cobtroled feeds and no sun exposure. Any tips from anyone?

  8. Regardless of the hilarious grammatical deficiencies and obviously insulting spelling errors, I wish you all the best in your pursuits and hope you enjoy the experience. MS spell check will fix spelling, unfortunately it can'nt fix attitude and personality for those who have an overwhelming sense of unfounded accomplishment.

Be ready for physical pain and late nights/early mornings during your training, you will look back and think it was awsum.

  9. I have been an Officer in the RNZAF for almost one year now. The experience has been very good, and I consider it to be my best choice I have made. If after the interview you are considered acceptable, you will go through a three-four day assessment - including presentations, maths, English, physical activity, problem solving and lead activities. They are designed to place you under stress to show your true character.

I was guilty of not showing the Defence Force much "respect" when I was a civilian, however after going through a year worth of training and assessments - I now have a better perspective on life, respect for my fellow man/woman, and have grown allot. It is not something you will relise untill you are in I think, well atleast for me.

The NZDF will give you allot, but you are going to have to be willing to give them allot as well - particularly being an Officer (all eyes will be on you no matter where you go).

Hope it all works out for you.

  10. My yellow had been holding for about 10 days. I watched on youtube how to strip the babies, so I gave it a go. It worked super well, and I am amazed at how big and how many were in there! Have about 25 of the little guys.

They are just in a floating tank now, as I only have one aquarium these days.

I have just been feeding them crushed flakes - they seem to be eating but it looks like they still have a bit of a yoak sack - not sure...

    Any advice on these guys?
