I'm ready to buy a filter for my 95 litre tank, and I'm faced with a decision of either a VersaMax or an AquaClear filter. The sales dude tells me that the VersaMax is better because it's motor is inside the plastic casing rather than mounted on the outside with an O ring seal like the AquaClear. The VersaMax is a much prettier piece of kit, but I wonder if anyone out there has been able to compare these makes. Thanks

Would it be viable to use good old philips energy saver light bulbs in the aquarium hood? Or, would it simply be better to go with conventional fluoro tubes? I think I intend to have some plants in the tank but not heaps. Any suggestions as to what would work best? (trying to save a little money) Thanks
