Oh bugger... that can be the way with Apisto's sometimes. As I remember you got them when in pretty average condition...
I still think the nicest Apisto's I have seen in NZ would have to be the Hongsloi. Jennifer Hamblin from Christchurch managed to breed some but lost most in the big quake. I managed to get a pair (1 male from Jennifer and a female from Auckland ) but the female was already in poor health and died soon after. Still waiting for the next shipment of Apisto's

fishyNZ do you still have the Panduro's? Any luck with them?

I would start feeding them soon or they will all disappear... I have had success with microworms and egg yolk mixture when free swimming. Small brineshrimp are probably best but I have never tried. I followed up with daphnia and newly hatched mosquito larvae when they were a little bigger. I have successfully raised numerous species of Apisto's using the egg yolk and microworm procedure. Good luck.

Nice work. What are you feeding the fry?

Nice collection aldrichdg. Are the Panduro the ones from aquaworld?. Do you have male and female?
-
Alex. Some Apisto mothers are just bad. If she in constantly eating the fry I would try and remove her as soon as the fry become free swimming. I have had some success doing this in the past.
-
Hi there. Do you currently have Apistograma Pandurini in stock?
-
Oh. Sorry to hear about the Tri's. Keep us updated. Need more Apisto keepers
-
Yeah. Good stuff aldrichdg. How about you Caldwell. Any Apisto's going?
-
Great looking tank :cophot:

Good luck with them Alex. The last time I spoke to Debbie at Redwoods she did say it was unlikely they would be importing any Apisto's so maybe the Trifasciata were locally bred? And vwboy77, shipping does make it expensive. Can be good if there are a few people wanting fish from the same store then you can share shipping costs

Hollywood fish farm may still have some? And they do ship...
-
Anyone breeding Apisto's at the moment?
-
From memory I think they may have bombed the house also as the ants were got into all the wiring.... Not sure if it was the bomb that killed them or the spray..
-
We ended up getting a professional in to spray around the house as the ant poison just seemed to be feeding the ants...
It turns out that the ants were nesting under the house in between the fibreboards and the black insulation paper.
There were literally handfulls of dead ants that had fallen to the ground from here.
The professional did say that we would never have got rid of them with the poison.
I suppose it depends on how big the infestation is.

Photo's please... And maybe spell check

Hollywoods had some advertised not so long ago..
-
Most likely these. http://www.doc.govt.nz/Documents/scienc ... barnes.pdf. Don't know of any cories..
-
Hi Caldwell. I'm not keeping any at the moment.. Doesn't seem to be many around at the moment
-
Cheers Jamie. Yeah I think there was Panduro around up here earlier on but no sign of anyone breeding them... Apisto's appear to be a high risk fish for importers so you can't really blame them for not bringing them in.
