Hey Geoff. Am interested in attempting to breed some of the fancy Plecos. U have successfully bred and raised Apistogramma in the past and have read up about your success... Can u suggest a learner/intermediate pleco to attempt to breed? Also can you advise breeding age. Thanks in advance.

Hey Dennis. Have noticed the same here in Hamilton.. The last lot of Apisto's our LFS had in were Agassizi but they hadn't had any in for some time prior to that. I have some Macmasteri fry but my Cockatoo's haven't bred for some time and the same goes for my Trifisciata.
Keep us informed when you do find some!

. The rams spawned on an old leaf and the Macmasteri on the underside of a suction cup.. The Mac's eggs seem to be slowly disappearing so don't hold a lot of hope for them. -

Yeah. If only we had some of the beauts seen on this site. Best I have seen would have to be Jennifer's Apistogramma Hongsloi. We may have had many more of these around except she lost them in the quake.

I personally have not purchased any fish from here but I would make sure the fish are only sent on the overnight delivery option (I don't think there is a same day option) especially if you are purchasing tropicals. Freight charges including the price of polybox,heat pad etc can be quite hefty and are usually sent at buyers risk. They do look to have some nice fish in store and do import their own fish.
