  1. Hey ron i heard u might be after some T5's, is that true. If so got any 6-8cm nice discus? (sorry 2 get off track)
  2. Thanks Ron, i've just ordered a 3oow Tronic, Was thinking of getting the 300w Elite range one but heard the Tronic are better. Anyone had problems with them? I heard they can run a bit hot, is that true and does it pose a problem? How stable do they hold the temp? the reason I ask is because I've had 2 Aquaone heaters and they where great at 1st but after a while they both started have ups and downs in temp.
  3. Just to be clear "Tronic" brand.
  4. Just want to know peoples experiences with these heaters. Cheers in advance! Johnny

    PH Meter

Hi all I hope I'm not breaking the rules but... It's not that I'm discussing TM but I want to know about the product. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 114276.htm Anyway, what are these PH meters like? Whats the easiest way to do ph tests? Is the old test tube way still the go or do these things simply add h20 and you get a reading or is it more complecated that that? Cheers
  12. I love almost anything you can eat from the sea or river. Shelfish, oh yeah. Fish, mmmmmm. raw fish mmmmm mmmmm! Crayfish, oh yeah. I think i'm drooling right now. Last good feed of sea food was a couple a weeks ago down at the Marae, Kina, pip, mussels, crays seafood chowder. Oh i love going out and getting it then eating it fresh asap. Raw, strait from the shell, thats what I'm talking bout. All this talk, oh well I'm off fishing tomorrow. Yeeeeee haaaaaa I think this gives u an idea how much i love seafood. I could go on and on and on........ ...... ......
  13. This mis a great thread to read: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/next-v ... c&start=15
  14. Hi All I hope this is the best forum 2 put this thread in. I’m after some really nice top quality pure strain moscow’s. Do we have really nice ones in NZ and who’s the most reliable breeders to buy off. I know there’s dodgy sellers out there (sad 2 say, but true) and basically I want to purchase really nice ones that are actually a pure strain. I would love to get my hands on some so I can take some pride in them and carry on the line knowing that I will have success and a number of beautiful guppies at the end. Please PM me if you can help me out. I would also love 2 c pics of whats out there, NZ of course though. Cheers
  15. http://www.guppydesigner.com/sales/sample.pdf This is a good link
  16. Hi all. Some very, very... nice tanks. I've only got 1 display tank with a couple of discus and a few other fish. I also got a couple of little breeder tanks. Look forwrd 2 seeing what else is still to end up in this thread.
  17. Cheers All Top tank has ova flow plumbing to bottom tank. Filter draws from bottem tank and pumps water into top tank, hence the cycle. Yeah, and i do separate females and males. I know growth is much better and females drop more when left to mature. Cheers
  18. When the females are ready to drop will put in breeding trap. Have cut the bottem out of the trap and the fry will drop thru. So the fry will never have big enough fish in there to eat them. Have a different compartments in bottem tank that house my breeding male and one that has my females. Once they have dropped in top tank will put back in with male then back to separate compartment before back into breeding trap and so on. so the cylce will continue till i have good numbers.
  19. Hi All. These are some pics of my new guppy breeding set up. I know it’s not the biggest but it’s all I’m aloud in the garage (without getting in trouble from the Mrs). Do you think it will be O.K for breeding one strain? Got Albino Snakeskins off Tim and hope to keep the line going and hopefully end up with it breeding true. There’s a few odd ones in there at the Moment but will get rid of them once the Albino females are ready to drop as they are a little bit off yet as I only put them in with the male little ova a week ago. My girlfriend is happy with it at the mo as it looks nice and tidy. It is easy to maintain, has a good filter which cycles through both tanks (hence 1 heater only) and I do heaps of h2o changes. With both dividers in I’ve got four compartments but can add more if needed. Look forward to any comments or suggestions. Cheers Johnny
  20. Yeah, a Killie in there. Fundulopanchax tailbita?
  21. Hi all. Was hoping if anyone could tell me what kind of guppy this is (eg. Snakeskin ... ?). I know it's not in tip top condition, but is it nice or just another run of the mill guppy? Cheers
