  3. Thanks.. Don't think that's it. It's some type of cichlid I believe. I bought a misfit in a tank of small Jack Dempsy
  4. I know these pics are not that great.. the little booger wont stand still... I can try to get better ones ...
  5. I recently started a new tank and filled it with small cichlids.. Jack Dempseysx4 firemouthx3 a small catfish a pleco.. and this unidentified little guy who was in with the Jack Dempseys... Can anyone help me identify him.. pics are not that good... They are all pretty fast and shy until feeding time...

  7. So would you suggest I keep him in the Hospital until it heals? Or can I Put him back in the larger tank? And could the amount of salt I've been adding to his water worsen his injury..?

  14. 2 things worked... feeding him after lights out, and I didn't realize how easy it was to distract his tank mates... I put pellets on one side while dropping feeders to my clown knife on the other. every now and then he misses out, but successful for the most part.
  15. I removed the pacu as I said earlier.. 20 gallon alone High temps.. and salt. the fuzzy part on his side has fallen off since my 1st posting hours ago.. but the white patch is still there.. (minus the fuzz).. Spidersweb ..."If it is genuinely white spot (ich) (which it sounds like it isnt)". What do you think it is? is the treatment for Ich and "fungal infection" different?
  16. okay thanks back to the pet store i go for furan2. I am accumulating a pet store of my own here.. And I check the pH regularly, as well as NH levels..I do regular water changes... my tanks are all over filtered except for 1 that is kind of exact. what can i do to avoid this problem that I am not already doing. Marlon being sick is really bothering me.. that's my buddy...

    Pacu sick

It does not look like that... it's 1 big furry white spot on his side.. I have noticed that on another fish though that has since died. Looked like bubbles were on him.. an iridescent shark. can I post pics on here?

    Pacu sick

My red bellied pacu (Marlon) has noticable ick. I have since removed him from my 75 gallon tank to a smaller 20 gallon tank.. he is alone.. I have raised the temp gradually and added salt.. 1st 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons today I increased it another 1tablespoon per 5 gallons. I am using sea salt. I did however go to the pet store and purchase Wardleys ick out sensative. I am not sure how I should treat the tank he came out of , which houses 2 Oscars, a clown knife a small red devil and pleco. i also have 4 other tanks that i have been using the same nets and siphon in... what should I do to maintain the health of the other fish... Should I even use these drops? I am hearing horror stories... its a fairly large whit fuzzy patch on his side
  19. it's a fairly large fuzzy white patch on his side.. it is raised from his skin... looks like a fuzzy white scab... Can i put pictures on here?

  21. Thank you.. Iam going to the pet store to find a divider now.. I seperated the clown knife into another smaller tank for fear he was starving... but it's so small 14 gallons.. I feel that is cruel to him as well... He did however waste no time eating the 2 feeders in that tank. I have 4 fish tanks already.. I am addicted dont know where I will find room for another one... but thanks that info was helpful.. By the way will starving him until he will eat somthing other than feeders really work?
  22. I have a 75 Gallon Tank. 2 4inch Oscars, a 3inch Pacu and a Clown Knife fish about 5inches. My Clown Knife will only eat live food. my Oscars and Pacu have gotten used to a variety of foods from dried krill, pellets to occasional feeder fish. It's virtually impossible to feed the Clown knife without the Oscars and Pacu snatching the feeders first. I don't want to switch all my fish to an all live food diet. My clown knife will not eat anything different. WHAT SHOULD I DO??
