    Loaches

Yeah ive got no more room in my tank so adding another isnt really an option for me, im hoping they become friends! I just wanted to see if anyone else had kept 2 different species together before without the constant chasing behaviour. Perhaps they need a talking to haha

    Loaches

Oh ok cool. I had 2 Yoyo's who were best buddies, one of them died yesterday for reasons unknown so my other half went off to the pet shop to get a replacement but he came back with a Zebra loach instead. He seemed happy at first, but then my Yoyo loach seemed to snap and has been chasing the new guy around and around my tank. Its not aggressive chasing, more like "Hey who are you, come here i wanna talk to you" chasing if that makes sense lol! They seem to be playing tag, will this cease as the Zebra loach finds his place or do i need to sell him and buy another Yoyo?

    Loaches

Has anybody successfully kept more than one species of loach happily in a tank before? Specifically a Yoyo and a Zebra loach. Thanks
  4. I do a 25% water change once a week usually. Feeding them once in the morning/night with flake food and then every 2-3 days i chuck in some blood worms, also an algae flake every week for my Pleco. The water is always clean, its not in direct sunlight or anything. Ill try boiling it and then leaving it in the sun for a few days. Thanks for all your suggestions
  5. Thanks so much Matt Very helpful response, have a great week
  6. Oh ok cool, i may do that. It doesnt seem to have much of an effect on the fish yet, but just wanted to know what it was.
  7. Anyone? Surely im not the only one thats ever had this stuff grow in their tank lol
  8. I have quite a big piece of driftwood in my 4ft tank. Ive recently noticed little "tufts" if you like, of black fluffy looking stuff, kinda like a little plant growing all over the wood. Is it dangerous? Should i take the wood out and change it?
  9. Im in the same boat as you, i dont think its very fair to have those beautiful creatures in a tank that prohibits their movements so much. Ive done a bit of research on it today, its quite big in the USA! I wouldnt ever think about doing it, i was just curious if it had been done here, possibly by people on here. Thats all I prefer my Bala Shark anyway, hes much cuter lol
  10. Ive heard rumours that its possible to keep some species of small shark in a tank.. Just wondering if anyone on here does or has, or know someone that does? I find it a bit hard to believe lol Thanks!
  11. I love that pattern, where can you get the L400? How much?
  12. does the same thing! lol he also does this funny dance thing where he tries to stir up the gravel to find food, hes by far the most entertaining fish to watch! I love how the loaches have the 'cheeky' personality compared to the swim round and round in circles personalities of some fish So you think i should get another Yoyo to be his friend?
  13. I currently have one adult Yoyo loach in my community tank (hes my favourite too ) As well as a dwarf gourami, bala shark, male fighter, few neons, couple of sword tails and a pleco. I am torn between two views on whether to buy another Yoyo loach as company for my one. If i do decide to get another Loach; Should it be another Yoyo or a clown/zebra etc? I want him to have a little mate, he has a huge cave where he spends most of his time and i reckon theres room for another room mate in there! Any help would be muchly appreciated.
  14. I want one! Wonder if we'd ever find one like that here?
