  5. Hi I am looking for anybody who has any Threadfin Rainbows or info on where to purchase some please. I have a 500L tank well planted, just looking for something a little different for it. I have also thought of Celebes Rainbows. Cheers Mal. I am not sure if this is in the right place.

    HRV

This is my understanding and experince. They take the warm air from your ceiling which has been heated by the sun's ray's and move the air around your house. I would recomend that you have the in line heater option with it, because if the air temp drops in your ceiling space you get the cold air coming down through the vents. I belive that all the systems are much the same HRV, Moisturemaster, DVS, the other and most cost effcient that I know is Home Tech. My parents have just put one in after having a DVS at there last two homes. The DVS was going to cost just over the 4K mark for a three bedroom house the Home Tech was $2,300.00 installed. Works well. They are not a heating option for your house, as on full heat they work on 4Kw only. You will need some other form of heating, heat pump's, gas, fireplace, etc... New homes with alumium windows have vent holes, as this was a major problem when they first came out many years ago. I hope this helps. Regards Mal.

    apple snails

thanks for the help. The eggs are out of the water but seem to be drying out. Mal.
  8. I have a bunch of orange eggs that where on the side of my tank, my son has pushed them off and into the water. I have them sitting on top of the glass, on top of the tank at present. Will they be ok? What should I do with them? Your advise would be most helpful. I gather that they are apple snail eggs????? Mal.

    dropsy?

Very interesting reading has already been mention, how ever I would like to know more as I have had 4 cases of this, 2 of which was a pair of red Gouramis which gutted me, all in the space of a week, and from three different tanks?? Does it only spread once the fish has died???
  11. No luck, checked on them this morning and the bubble nest has broken up. Not to sure what has happened, but will try again. I think a smaller tank less water and no filter. We have been doing some research on the fourm and seems we need to make some changes. Who knows we will see if any have survived. We will keep trying gutted though. Mal.
  12. I have a pair of Cobolt blues, and they are both a very nice blue, and apart from the size the dorsal fin is the only difference. So In a few cases the females are as pretty!
  13. Yes I think they are different, as I have a pair of honey which a very light yellow then I have 4 others which are a deeper yellow but still not the Golden yellow, well at this stage they are still fairly young. By the way, I have a pair of cobolt blue gouramis which I have just separated the female after spawning, Is it safe too leave my 3 clown loaches in tank?

    first young

well I have not even set up my breeding station yet, so have had all my killies in a 900mm tank for six months now. I have moved some Indian fern and I have seen my first young this morning. It is about 8mm long with the Dagati strips all ready showing, doing very well. Just good luck as I have done nothing at all with them. Thanks Tim for the stock, I will be getting some more. Mal.
