Aquatopia, that youtube link showing how to make backgrounds out of poly and concrete-have you tried it? Is concrete safe to use in aquariums? Spoon, thanks for the tips! Might have to try it out. So is student acrylic paint safe to use in aquarium without being coated in epoxy?

I've just purchased a Marina Aquavac that connects onto the taps faucet and siphons water from the tank straight into the sink. The faucet connectors don't fit onto any of our taps though-we don't have screw threads on the taps. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for your replies guys. The male fry are starting to get colour on their tails now and some have a couple of black spots on their sides.

Our first lot of baby guppies are about a month old now-and none of them seem to have any colouring. A couple of fry in our second batch (about 2 weeks old) are starting to show patches of black but the rest all look like females at this stage. How long does it take for the colouring to come through?
