  1. It is sealed in every conceiveable place. Only bit that isn't is underneath the stand. The tray is coated with 3 layers of polyurethane, and siliconed in the joins. The whole thing is undercoated and painted with 2 coats of paint. If it swells....I'll eat dog crap!
  2. By the way update pics are in this thread.
  3. Are they what!? 5 mins after I put her in the new tank she was swimming about like her swim bladder had ruptured. So I was freaking out that I had hurt her trying to catch her in the other tank. She came right after that, but still insisted on wedging herself between the driftwood and the back of the tank on a 45 degree angle. Stupid fish. She has only just started eating (semi) normally.

    Hey

Welcome David. Hope you enjoy your stay .
  6. Well here is a comparison of what I had, and what I have now... This is my Oscar, sulking, as she has been since she was rehomed. And these are my 2 Silver sharks (1 new one) I can't get a picture of the 3 convicts as they are lost somewhere in the driftwood, and the lighting is not the best at the moment without the hood. Which hasn't been made yet.
  7. Its pretty damn level by the look of the water now that its full.......*phew*
  8. I have never worn gloves. One guy on another forum I frequent said that he would happily drink his water he is so confident with the filtration.
  9. Thanks I will do. As soon as it is stocked I will post more pics.
  10. I prefer the understocked look. Or at least i will one I get my new tank. My current tank: 4' 210L 1 nearly 12" Tiger Oscar 1 10" silver shark 1 11" Sailfin PLeco 1 recently deceased 9" Geophagus altifrons New tank: 8'3" approx 700L all the above as well as (maybe) 2 smallish G altifrons 2 Convicts
  11. True. From my research, and as is indicated in my post, Planaria are one of 3 things. Predatory, parasitic or herbivorous.
  12. I can't imagine a fish would eat it with garlic in it. Would they?
  13. Gotta move with the times boy, technology it is a changing. Break out of your comfort zone and extend yourself.
  14. Andrew, I have been dying to ask you something for ages......why don't you use the quote system that is already there?

    Short Intro

    Welcome fellow Hamiltonian.
  17. So if I give him the books he'll read them? You can't guarantee that. I politely suggested making it a community tank, and he said it was up to me. So that sounds promising. I will try and encourage him to have just 1 Pleco and 2 Oscars, becasue he likes Oscars.
  18. I don't think thats an option. Spacewise, and money wise.
  19. Huh? :-? There is no problem with it. The only problem is his unwillingness to learn and his passion for overstocking the tank. He can't, he's sick.
  20. How big are you thinking? If it is under or around 100L you could give it a go yourself. But if you have never built a tank before and you want something bigger, I'd get it custom made. Where are you from by the way?
  21. I talked to him this afternoon, and he is only babysitting. But hes only baby sitting the Pacu, the convicts and the Pleco are staying.
