sorry to bring this old post back up but i am abit confused i just bought a aquaone cf1200 filter just to make sure it came with these black balls in one tray with some blue plastic type hard sponge and then on another tray some black sponge and these white o ring ceramic type things do i take them out of the plastic bags they came in or leave them in there might sound like a dumb question but i need to make sure

sorry to bring this subject up again but i was searching thru and found this one, i was looking at getting a uv sterilizer but need to know is it better to invest in a really good filter and other stuff or is it worth(how much are they anyway) getting them maybe some info from the people who use them and people who have used them and found they are not worth it would be pretty helpfull sorry but just need to know cheers guys

haha i think iv nearly got bts i really want one so bad now lol acidic is more towards 6 on the ph chart isnt it i was told by jensens to kep my tank at 7-8 so i keep my tank at about 7.5-8 is this ok and i was told that malawi fish prefer water at 8 so would i stress me geo out if i put the ph up to 8 or 8.5 with crushed coral and dried coral pieces

wats MTS i take it some sort of disease, i have a small 15 gallon tank(thats not in use) and the 25 gallon im using now, not really wanting to get big fish i wanna set up a malawi tank but not sure if i wanna set it up in my 25g tank or a new big one lol sorry if im confusing, are the fish i got now able to live in the malawi tank iv been asking around and i cant get a real answer some people say yes and some say no, i got 3 featherfin cats and a geophagus s-something i cant pronounce the next word or spell it sorry lol

lol thats not a bad idea if money was no odject, im studyin at AUT at the moment so i dont have much money but i do have moeny saved up lol and the plus of a bigger tank is that its more stable then the one i got now so if something goes bad it would take longer to show so im hoping that it gives me more time to react i think aynways lol

haha you guys have cool fish, my geo digs holes, it piks up the gravel and piles it at the bak of the tank it used to pik the gravel up from 1 side of the tank and pile it up on the other it had moved so much gravel at one point when i was at work that all the gravel was on one side and the other half of the tank was bare lol now it just digs big pits lol http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/6-vt16 ... l?start=75 thats it in the bakground on this page thats the small pit his dug and the gravel layer is 4 inches lol

so what do i do now should i find another tank maker im worried as this will the only tank in the house if i get it and if she lets go and i have 12 or 13 fish in there then where do i put them i dont want them to die (i have lost fish before and it suks) what would u guys do if u were in my position sorry for all the question but i dont wanna make a mistake with such a big tank

thanks guys the geo in the background did that it digs up the whole tank, its dug up thru 4 inches of gravel and piled it all against the back of the tank it gets bigger by the day lol sorry but at the moment i dont really know much about breeding i only had them because it was a gift and just didn't really like fish until i visited hollywood fish farms and the bug bit lol so iv just been researching for the past month and decided to join the club. BTW rcon021 ur fish look awesome

hey guys i want to upgrade my 25 gallon tank to something big i want a tank that measures 1700(L)x600(W)x600(H) and was looking thru trademe and came across this person selling tanks they can make any tank you want to your dimensions but it is only garanteed for 1 year dont know why but just seems short to me, are they any good and has anybody here bought them before any help would be very helpfull as i am just new to the hobby and dont want a tank that breaks or starts leaking after 10 months or something cheers guys for nay help in advanced

hey guys this is my first post i have 3 featherfin cats that i have had for about 1 year now wat do you guys think. BTW you guys have some awesome cats and i has reading the threads and you guys are like the masters of fish , i didnt know that so many species were out there and didnt really get in to it till just a month ago so its good to know that you guys are out there willing to help us newbies out anyways heres a pic of my cats
