Could make it a realy nice tank
-
Just found a couple pages on this species in a old book here, except the genus name has changed since then.
Whats the longest anyone here has had an adult live for?
-
Can they be kept in a tank with other south american fish that liek that temp? Like Leopardfish and peppered cory.
-
Haven't ever seen a pigeon stop in midair
I have, just after a bang... Or was that a seagull?
-
Ive seen pictures on the net.
-
Very nice.
Now where are the photos of the fish?
-
Might be a good idea to start this tank from scratch then?
-
-
Might have to get rid of mine after seeing this
Especially if i upgraade to a 45cm tank

Hi. Sounds like you might be at the beginning of MTS (multiple tank sybdrome). Beware, there is no cure except to buy more tanks!! 8)
Actually there is a cure, but its not a nice one, The cure is having a tank or 3 burst onto the floor, losing your fish and screwing the carpet
I did say the cure wasnt nice.
Oh and welcome!

If you go blind cave way, try import some Ancistrus Formosa
-
-
Very cool indeed!
-
If hes not eating it probably doesn't have anything to do with his sight.
Most fish have super smelling abilities
Just like albino angels, they apparently have bad sight, but still the first fish in the tank to get the food.
-
Selleys all clear? Any of the tanks split? You should use an acid curring silicone like Silaflex RTV, much stronger.
There is a Selleys one that is strong enough and safe for aquariums
-
Oh thats strange, CHCH water is completely free of it
-
the water is straight from the tap, maybe that is the problem. The water here stinks of chlorine too. How long should i let it sit before adding it to the tank?
You have chlorine in your water?
How far north from CHCH are you?
-
I was going to say mouses ear
-
I also emailed them re manakau water
Dear Aaron,Water supplied to our customers in Manukau is treated with chlorine. The level of chlorine is maintained between 0.2 mg/l and 0.9 mg/L. This apparently is not a suitable condition for fish in a tank, therefore the owner needs to apply additional treatment to remove chlorine.
Regards

You could get a few Daphnia, Arctocorisa or Anisops
Arctocorisa isWaterboatmen and Anisops is backswimmers
-
Nice tank.
A couple suggestions though
1. Change to dark substrate, or add some dark over top.
2. add a black background(sideground  ?) to both sides, The fish and plants will look brighter
-
What species do you have?
-
There is a simple answer to the chlorine issue.
Email the Council.
Even if you have 'heard from someone' that there isn't any chlorine.
-
Could try Peppered cories, golden, rosy or cherry barbs.
