  2. yeah will just have to leave them. Donna has helped me out with the whole straw thing. Must go and get some and do that thanks for everyones input . Just have to leave them be or take the lot out into large indoor ponds/heated tanks sarah
  3. thanks broms can you post me up a photo of your pond? what do you have on the bottom of it? I have only ever had my turtles in tanks up until last year and its just red ears outside in a pond that i am worried about sarah
  4. i am a little paranoid about loosing turtles as i have always had them indoors and the have been outside for 8 months now. Are they okay with it heated even thow the air is cold with winter and all? thanks for the info have read various sites about putting leaves on the bottom or barley straw etc etc sarah
  5. Just wanting to hear from anyone who has done this successfully? I have always had my turtles in large indoor tanks and this year they are in a pond. Can it be heated? I am a bit paranoid about these turtles dying over winter? thanks i have done alot of reading including Donnas facebook info on hibernation and barley straw etc sarah
  6. dd you see the seller on trademe selling baby turtles claiming they can live all year round in cold water. Really sad. We got two off him drove there took 2 hours and one didnt even make the trip home

  8. i got a baby snakeneck off them that was apparently 9 months old and about 4cms it lived for about a month was not a well turtle at all sarah
  9. me too i would love some more and have asked a couple of places about adopting snake necks but none seem to want to let any go. These will be permanent residents here too i am keeping an eye out on trademe as i prefer the larger ones. Can sit there for hours watching them. I find the snake necks alot more mellow in personality than the red ears thanks sarah [email protected]

  12. Just wondering? They seem great pets. Just heard from a friend whom brought an adult pair for $60 ! What a bargain from a lady up north
