  1. yes i tried putting the medium molly in the main tank and hes doin ok the smaller one got bullied so hes back in the container so because my tank is overstocked i will most probably end up giving the largest away or swap for a female or a glowlight cos one of mine died.
  2. Wait, Are you doing different tanks for each a community cos bb gobies are brackish, ottos are softwater and gouramis freshwater. conditions dont quite fit
  3. Do mandarins sleep in a mucus coocon? remember reading that some fish do can't remember whether mandarin is one of them.
  4. arent bumble bee gobies brackish?
  5. All others are fine and large male molly is fine too the container is about 3 cm deep they are swimming about now but might have to see whether the large molly still harasses them i might have to get rid of him
  6. it swam up to take food i will change thw ter in the compartments before i go to sleep. But it likes to swim then rest swim then rest so on and so forth its still does the ocassional tumble turn. Youve been so helpful thank you Billaney
  7. im in Island Bay but they are all male as all have gonopedia smalls condition is deteriorating i think as it is now spinning as it tries to swim Thanks for your help Billaney
  8. they are in a planted community aqaurium carried out a water change on sturday thats about it. There are 3mollies 2angels 2glowlights 4neons 1bristlenose 1ottocinclus It is slightly over populated i have the internal filter creating ripples on surface. I brought as a complete set up a few weeks back. the small mollie swims around then sits on bottom and is breathing moderately fast medium mollie is the same. I think they have been attacked by the other molly
  9. were fine 5 o clock now two of three are sitting on the bottom one appears to have ragged fins but other wise i just carried out a water change and water chem is good. There is a small medium and large. the small is lying on its side and the other vertically on the bottom. The medium swims up to the top but the larger one harrases it. I have them floating in a plastic container with compartments. I have added some stress coat. will they suffer from oxygen depletion in there. It is a small takeaways styled container with two compartments and about 77cm sq of surface area per compartment. Any help are they just resting? (Please be, I hate losing fish) thanks
  10. lol i guess it saves hassle so yeah i'll most probably will just save up and buy a new one.
  11. Does anyone know if it would be cheaper even if i brought new glass?
  12. Hello Everybody I was scrounging around my garage today and noticed two large old french doors. Could if i took the glass out from the frame and take it to a glass place ie. smith & smith or kelly glass if it was cut to size could i make a tank with some silicone aquarium sealant? Is this a practical soloution? Are there any problems that frequently arise with this? Thanks for all and any feedback
  13. there is no flicking against the rocks but its getting cloudier/ whiter so i'll keep searching. I may be old age as i'm unsure when they were bought but do old fish breathe heavily?
  14. fish is breathing/ gills and mouth moving about once a second so i'll try it thanks
  15. had to carry out a water chnage. I think because when i brought my tank as a complete set up it already had too many fish so i might have to do changes more regularly. However i have noticed after change the other glowlights are breathing slightly fast. It may have been gill flukes as i was reading up on it and it said fast breathing and hieghtened colour. Any more opinions? If it gets worse should i treat as flukes? Thank you everybody
  16. It all seems improving now it's following the others round. But now i noticed one of my glowlights is breathing really fast and looks cloudy so i'll have to figure that one out too.
  17. Thats an awesom thank the wood is really nice. Are they tropical seahorses just out of curiosity
  18. I just noticed that one of my three glowlights was very couldy (in colouraton) and breathing very fast. It was not particularily active and pec fins were moving fast and repetitive. Is this a disease? if so what should i treat it with? Thanks for any help
  19. the angels are both rather small (larger 7cm smaller 5) and the neons about 2.5-3 so i dont think the angels will eat the neons but it came out to feed today and hung with its other buddies so it might have been a midlife crisis or something but i will keep watching it
  20. it just looks the same as the others but perhaps slightly cloudy
  21. i believe they are about a 1 to 2 years. She said the tank has been running with that stocking level for about a year and a half. It was even said that one of the mollies had babies. She brought the angels to eat the babies. i later found under closer inspection that all three mollies were males as they all had gonopedia (spelling?) But she seemed rather trustworthy.
  22. Are the fish more tolerant of water chemistry? or are they very much the same. I have no problem buying a cooler if i really have to. I just like the idea of a rockpool tank that reflects welly's south coast
  23. its 35 by 35cm and 50 tall it is planted with a cave ornament - where it usually hangs out The tank has: 2 Angels 3 Mollies 4 neons 3 Glowlight tetras 1 Bristlenose catfish 1 Otocinclus It is slightly overstocked but she said she had had it for a long time and was only carrying out water changes every 4-5 weeks. i recently brought it from a lady at my fathers work (about 5 weeks ago) and it has been fine until last week when it 'got shy' I recently rearrange some of the plants as there were tall plants in front of small plants. Could this be a cause. I had a quick look but couldn't see it today Thanks for everyones help
