  1. The amoxillin seemed to work when I last checked. The cyano has started to get into pieces and turning brown. Unfortunately I've been sent out of Welly on work and I dont know if it has fully eliminated my problem. If not I will get started on the vodka treatment when I get back.
  2. Thanks feelers and frechwest. Might try it if the amoxillin doesnt work.
  3. Thanks very much Caryl. Very informative. Now what dosage should I apply? 250mg caps how many and how often? I am not sure about the vodka suggestion. Would it not be toxic to plants since alcohol is a poison which kills living tissue?
  4. Thanks Caryl Can I use an alternative.... like say Amoxillin... in place of Erythromycin?
  5. Anyone know where to source some anti-bacterial remedies to control cyanobacteria infections (blue-green algae)? A thin membrane of algae is slowing spreading and covering my carpet plants. I've already tried all the home remedies (water changes, reduced lighting, algicide, etc) but with no success. If anyone know of a good source of anti-bacterial medicine, pl point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance.
  6. Would any of the algae products in the market suit green water? Any thoughts would be welcome. I am thinking of using some as a short-term solution...
  7. But I think it could be due to a lack of fert, as before the green water outbreak, I had been dosing daily with Flourish Excel and Flourish. I was out of town for a while and I was unable to carry out the fert regimen which may have lead to the green water outbreak.
  8. Mine's a planted tank. So no fish to eat this daphne. What are they and where do I get them?
  9. information on how to address this problem in my planted tank would be highly appreciated.
  10. Hi Plantman I'm a bit confused... If the ratio is 1 to 2 watts per litre, then shouldn't you have 100 watts in total for a 100l tank? Could you please clear this up. Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi I would like some. Let me know whereabouts you are based. Thanks
