  1. As some of you may know, i set up a small tank in bailey's class, at the beginning of the term with some minnow's in it.

Well, today i received 18 letters and 16 pictures, of thanks, from the kids in his class. they have been practicing writing formal letters and decided to thank me for the fish.

    Definitely made my day :)

  2. as far as i'm aware, it has been the same pet shop that has been sold on to the next owner, and so forth. it used to be on queen street (don't know if it was anywhere else prior to that). janis took over about a year before they moved it into the mall, almost 4 years ago.

  3. for a while now, wainui pets has been up for sale, but it looks like we will be losing our pet shop. they are expecting to close the doors for the last time on or around the 18th of july

so this is a big thank you to Janis (and the team) for being there when i needed her help on animal matters, and wishing her well in the future :)

  4. thanks people.

theres bound to be vibrations in a room full of kids, lol. i'm going to try using it as a tool to help with my boy at school. his school work is great, but he has a few behaviour issues that occasionally get him sent out of class. so the idea is, it is his job to monitor the fish and make sure they look happy and healthy, but in order to do this, he must be in class, so no more being naughty and getting sent out. And, i'm also hoping, it will help him make friends as they are his fish (of sorts) and he can explain what keeping them is like :)

  5. I have offered to lend my 40L Jebo R338 to baileys classroom till the end of the school year. it will house a few mountain minnows and a couple of plants.

would i need to put it on some poly??

i disassembled it a few months ago and can't remember if i had it on poly or not

i just want to be sure before setting it up for the kids.

    thanks

  6. mine get flake (wardleys), bloodworms, beef heart (grated), shrimp, whitebait, and last night they did some serious damage to half a zucchini that was meant for the bristlenoses
