Just been watching my pair of bncf and the male seems to be in his cave alot but there no eggs.He comes out chases the female around the tank till they get near his cave then the male goes in.The female has been hanging around his cave.What is with this? Any help would be great.

lol.Ive been feeding them gambusia and guppies and worms and sticks but still they just dun want to do it.Its like they dont like me lol!!!Ive dun water changes but still nothin.

my jewels are being lazy again lol.I dont think its that.There just sitting in there cave doing nothin.What is there problem lol

They all hatched in a period of ten mins.They on the roof of the cave are have some of the biggest eggs sak's i have ever seen

Yea dont count your chickens before they hatch.Im not expecting 1/4 of them live.Just happy that they are doing there thing. 8)

Ive been feeding my jewels, guppies,flake and novo cichlids sticks.Is this a good enuff diet?I want to try and feed them some earth worms and other things like that.Got any ideas as to what i can feed them.This may sound cure but I enjoy feeding my jewels guppies.Im feeding them by hand other wise the food doesnt get there atention.Any ideas would be great.

Yea man im realy happy.Counted the eggs and theres ABOUT 30ish eggs.So not a bad spawn for a first timer.Hes good at his fanning job. 8) I can see some of the crud in my tank come flying out of his cave . :lol:

Yea i thought it was abit over the top.But ive never seen then so....... Im gonna start running out of room for the bncf pretty fast as ive got another pair starting to find a love.Im wanting to grow them up so I can get a better price for them.Ill get 3ft.If i did get a 3ft do i need gravel ???? could i just have Sponge filters in there with them?As that would be easyer to look after.It would be by the window so I can get some algae happening in there for them.What do you think?

Yea.Ive heard of bncf 15cm and they had 600 eggs!!! lol that would be a handful and a half.

Thanxs.I'll pop some food in his cave or near by.The thing is that the pair is only about 5+cm LOL. Is that rare to have them breed so erly?

Whooooohooooo.Was looking around the tank for my my bncf and then turned one of the caves ova then i saw a massive wad of eggs.I carnt believe it.Ive got a smile going right across my dace .must of been layed today because i saw him out and about today.And ive been told he stays there no matter what.How long will he fan for?Any help would be great.

Ive got some SJD king killies.just wondering when i should start conditioning them up and put them in the breeding tank with peat moss. thanxs

did water change yesterday.Still nothin.When i got them off the guy i got told they are about breeding size.They are quite a bit bigger now soooo.ill try rasing the temp and then do a water change in acople of days (4-5)

What is it with my jewels they still arnt breeding.IVe fed them up.They have paired of.temp at about 24-26 ph 6.5. I juss duno whats wrong with them.They have lots of caves and stuff.HMMMMMMMM any MORE ideas?

Im planning to breed them in a 2ft tank is that to big or small?

I went there saterday and i was talking to the staff (brad) and he said he carnt get any and that store was on a waiting list for 2 years!They told me there are worth about $500 a lil less.There are thhree of them and no way in hell are they selling them if your gonna wait 2years for them and keep them for a cople of months.There "trying" to breed them.....
