  1. Hey, I got three of the same albino girls. With the pale snowy blue fins. they are gorgeous!! Let me know what kind of fry you get!!
  2. Have just setup our 2ft. :bounce: http://photobucket.com/albums/a360/toughchicken/2ft/ We have put in a few random colour guppies in the mean time, heres one of the boys with yellow girls.
  3. Cheers Shae. Anyway, good luck with the eggs Wok!!! :bounce:
  4. Would Dwarf Gouramis also be fine with Blue Rams?
  5. The cost, I can't help you with that as I will get both of mine constructed for free. A commercial building I drew up needed a lot of steel work for a steel portal frame. So when I talked to the custom steel people, they helped me out with a couple of stands. So I will have to give them a box of beers, or something of that nature. Sketch something up & go out and get some quotes, then you can get the design you want.
  6. Its the not getting it WET part that worries me... haha :-? Particle Board is for flooring. Custom wood (MDF) Kitchens etc... both don't do well with water! Weet-bix anyone?
  7. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pets-animals/Fish/Fish/auction-38516598.htm :-? I dont think I could ever do that to a fish!
  8. Wok, would we be able to see some photos once they have hatched? That is if they survive. I really like these guys (Blue Rams) and have been reading with great interest! Would love some myself, but I don’t think that the Guppies would be so impressed with me. :-?
  9. I think that you will find its custom wood under that surface. I wouldn't trust it. Personally. For what you want to do, I would go out and get it custom done in a steel stand with plywood insert. Once it has a clear coat, it won’t rust. Then when you have the funds fix any exterior surface you want, e.g. kitchen formica, ply wood, timber veneer. (currently I’m getting two steel custom stands made)
  10. No one wants this to happen!!! You could also use steel cleats, but that could be an over kill, and you would need to screw fix it. The only benefit is that it’s less likely to be visible when opening the cabinet door, as the cleat is 'L' shape. It also wouldn’t have to run the full length of the corner that you would be fixing it to, using two cleats at each end around 50mm wide with four pre-drilled fixing holes.
  11. :bounce: :bounce: Looking good PENEJANE!!! She doesn’t look to dissimilar to the bulk of our females (grey blue tail), which we plan to go with our Black Snakeskins (currently in good hands until we setup), will have to wait and see what is produced with this crossover. A busy summer for us once finished Uni. we have to set up our two tanks sitting on the floor (2ft & 4ft). Still waiting on stands, have to paint the backs of tanks, then hope to get three nice planed tanks and some kind of breeding plan for our Guppies up and running in a very minor way. Anyway I hope the breeding of your black guppies goes well.
  12. This may sound silly, but are the INLET & OUTLET tubes the correct way around when they connect into the external filter. :-? Just a thought. But what Alan has said sounds more likely.
  13. I could be wrong, but was once informed that Greenhithe does not get the water from the Waikato River, mixed in. Which would mean that your water is not as heavily treated, more likely to be safer for you and the fish. 8) But hey, you would have to do more research with the local council to get correct and accurate information. As the novice (note no stars ) on this forum there could likely be someone here older and wiser that could be a lot more informative. RJ
  14. Well, there maybe someone else that may know a little more... :-? you may be fine with out stress coat, just something we have been in a habit of using. LFS recommendation etc when we started fish keeping...
