Discus in Auckland

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good supplier/breeder of discus in Auckland. I'm currently looking at starting up a tank of discus, and would appreciate any advice.

Also does anyone happen to know when and where, if there are any, that fish clubs meet in Auckland. :P

If you click on the FNZAS.org is here logo at the top of the page then select "clubs' you will find a list. There are 3 FNZAS clubs in Auckland meeting in Green Bay, Takapuna and Manurewa.

There is also a reef club but I do not have any details about it as it is not FNZAS affiliated.

Try Discus Haven. I don't have the phone number.

Hollywoods and Jansens are also excellent. The good fish have fairly big price tags however (you get what you pay for).

Last i heard discus haven had shut up shop . Yes jansen and hollywoods have got a good selection of imported discus at high prices . I would suggest that you start a forum probably under this section asking who is actually breeding discus I know tat a few have but aren't sure who is still breeding them.

Just my thoughts

Shame about Discus Haven if he has shut-shop. He had very good discus. I got my first 2 dozen from him. I still had all but one 3 years later (the only one I lost jumped out). They were very strong quality fish at very reasonable prices.
