Gel Cell Batteries

Featured Replies

i bought a hunting spot light which has a gel cell battery. i have now used it & come to charge it but i cannot locate any instructions. I don't know if there were some or not.

my question is how long do i recharge it for? the charger says "auto shut off" on it & "do not over charge". I am unsure whether i should charge for 8, 18, 36 hours or somewhere in between. anyone have any ideas?

did the charger come with it - normally they either have an indicator which changes colour or one that shuts off.

From the sound of it it turns off

thanks. how can i work out how long it needs to be charged for? it's a 7a/h battery.

Pretty sure you can divide the battery capacity by the output current of the charger to roughly get the charge time.. Obviously depends on a flat battery to begin with..

They're just a standard lead acid battery. Throw a car battery charger on it if you want.

it is a 400ma charger so that must mean around 20 hour full charge from flat. sounds right to me.
