I just picked up my new Hagen T5's today (yay for me!), and set them up on my tank. Everything was going fine and they made a HUGE difference, but now they're flickering on and off?? Anyone else had issue's like this?? Are they common for "over heating"?

If I keep having trouble they'll be going back to the LFS tomorrow but thort I'd try here incase there was a easy/obvious fix?!

Sounds like a loose connection.

have heard of this problem happening to others. sometime my light will turn on then turn off. but if it is on for a good ten minutes it wont turn off till i turn it off they can be quite touchy.

Yeah i've made sure the bulb's are in as secure as possible and cap's are tight?

Rung the store today and that's all they could suggst over the phone. Going to take it back in tomorrow and try some different bulb's as they also said these could be causing it due to the electronic ballast's??

Also make sure you're not using T5HO bulbs in a T5 setup. The power they require is different, but they're the same size.
