What is the best way to sex a Sev ,without watching them get jiggy with it 8)

Not a lot of difference. Male is brighter coloured and the dorsal and anal fins more drawn out than the female's. Male head is patterned with reddish brown dots and wavy lines not seen on the female. Males grow bigger.

When a male matures (or is ready to breed) his bars darken, fins colour up and the spots and wavy lines will grow and intensify

what sex is yours do you reckon? Come and have a look at my male if you like as a comparison. I belive goldens and greens can actually interbreed - same species or something

i actually think mine is a male 90 % any way , but have done homework , i think he has taken a fancy too one of my Chocs , Choc not amused
