MarkLB
Hi all. I got one male and two female M. Johanni on the weekend. What gorgeous fish they are. I have some info on them from the web but I was hoping to get some more info from any one out there who is keeping or has kept them. Theres nothing better than info from experienced keepers. So if theres anything you think I should know about these beauties please let me know.

ryanjury
He'd only be 4 to 5 inches the girl we gots about 2 to 3 inches. They just chill out in the tank and dont cause any problems to anyone were hoping they will breed evenually.

MarkLB
What size tank have you go them in, any other tankmates, how is the tank set up???? Frenchy I'm think I can see a bigger tank on the horizon. At the moment they are in a 'Waterhome 25'. Thats 96litres. 800mm long. There is only the three M. Johanni and a bunch of baby guppies. The tank is planted , has a good hunk of wood and two flower pot caves.
MarkLB
Forgot.....theres also some limestone rock in there. I'm thinking of removing the wood and having more rock , depending on what the pH does.
Fishman
Get rid of the Guppies aswell before they become lunch for Johannis.
MarkLB
Get rid of the Guppies aswell before they become lunch for Johannis. This brings me to my next question....food preferences. I've read that these guys are herbivores but I've seen them scoff blood worm with no hesitation.
Afrikan
Hi There We keep and breed these often, however we keep rather a few females to the one male because our male that we use for breeding is rather bulshy with the girls... but hes certainly the one they seem to want to breed with, must go for the bad boy type  Good Luck! Buy a good vegie flake, & use that as their staple. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/feeding_african_cichlids.php Frenchy
