Matthew
I have just moved house, and have my fish in temporary quarters, has anyone got any advice re: setting up the new tank. Do I continue to use the old water, or shall I cycle a new tank. any ideas appreciated.
Ira
Use as much of the old water as you can and just set everything back up after giving it all a good rinse if it's been sitting for a while, especially any cannister filters. Now would probably be a good time to do any work on the tank that you can't do while it's full if there's anything you've wanted to do. Caryl
I agree with Ira. Those canisters really stink if they go off! Have you continued to keep the old filters running on the temporary tanks? This will save you having to cycle the tank again.
Matthew
yes i have got my filters running, so there's no concern with that, I was just wondering if there was a best practice with setting up a tank in regards to the bacteria. I guess what i'm hearing is to continue to use the old water/filter etc, so that's what I will do.
