you may find the male betta will constantly harass the female betta causing her to become unwell, im not too sure. also if you have mixed sexs of the gouramis they may get angry when competing for 'bubble space'?

id drop the red tailed shark, they like to eat other parts of fish that they can fit in their mouths. apparently they can also be nasty to other fish that have red on them- im not too sure, i have one myself but hes in a tank where he cant boss anyone around and he seems very peaceful but ive heard horror stories of guppies and neons becoming snacks :o

depending on your angel fishes temperment it could work out (ive had angels with bettas before and all was ok) but if they become fin nippers you might have to part with the nippers or nipees. probably one of those trial and error things but have a backup plan (breeding net or tank) just incase it goes wrong.

this is just my opinion though, you seem good on stocking levels, perhaps even understocked which is good :D

yeah i wasnt to sure on the shark, what if if have two female bettas?

Im hoping that i get nice angels, but i do have a breeding net and an extra tank just in case.

What other fish do you think would go with this selection. My boyfriend likes swordtails, so i was contemplating some of them.

Would a couple of Kribs play nice?

:)

kribs will often play nice if they have enough hiding spots and arent breeding  swords go with nearly everything and are pretty placid- i had some ages ago and i never saw them nipping angels or bettas so i would think they would be ok :D

two female bettas would be betta than one (HAHHAHA too funny sharn!!)

I agree with Sharn about the bettas.. from what I understand, male and female bettas in the wild only come together to breed. If the female is not in breeding condition, she will be constantly harassed and chased away.

Having a group of females is a good idea. I would suggest getting at least 3 because if you only have two, then the dominant one might constantly harass the other one. Having at least 3 will spread the aggression.
