mitch
Some of my fish have spots on them, but though you would think it would be easy to tell i have just dont know if it is white spot they have or if parts of the ceramic biological media have made it into the tank. What i do know is that i am not having much luck with my Gouramis (dont know what is going on there), the rest are alright apart from the spots....(ether way useing white spot med with a temperature of 28deg)....still live in hope it is not white spot. Caryl
White spot looks like the fish has been sprinkled with salt. I doubt parts of the ceramic media would stick to fish even if bits were floating loose in the water.

Caper
But it's like Caryl said, white spot looks like a salt shaker was taken to the fishies. I have had white spot...ah, er...I mean my fishies have had white spot, never ever noticed anything white floating around tank!
Freakyfish
In a white spots cycle of life it will float around your tank if the infestation is bad enough you will be able to see the white spot in the tank This is only time your able to kill the white spot Brad
