Duke
Just finished watching the video... eyeing up my corals now. Which one first. I think it will be cutting some mushrooms in half.
wasp
Been a long weekend, anybody who hasn't done it before do a bit of "chopping?" How did it go?
wasp
That superglue he was talking about, anybody know a good one for the purpose that can be purchased here?
KP
cookie rekons zeovit speedglue is pretty good. I'm guessing you use it for corals??
suphew
how mch is it?? does any one know? I just used some normal old fast set superglue to make up some frags, I had a rock fall over and it broke off some tip, decided it give it a go. I have done lrger frags with aquakneedit but it is a pint to use they seem to come loose more often than not
wasp
Yes I have some speed glue but it's a slighly different application, you use it for bigger jobs, the sort of thing you would otherwise use two part epoxy for. I was looking at the way he glued those fine wafers on, need something to do that type of thing.
wasp
So just normal superglue is good, Suphew? I assume the bits must be thoroughly dry first?
suphew
yeah, paper towel to dry surfaces. superglue is good, was designed to glue peoples bits together in the war so is non-toxic
wasp
Righty Ho! I'll head off to Bunnings & get started! Wasn't it amazing to see those brains get cut up. I thought it would get chopped in 1/2, and then he just keeps going & going! Had me cringing to watch, but he will certainly get a heckuva lot of corals from one big one! wasp
Well went & got the supa glue & chopped up a few acro frags just to try it out, very effective and incredibly easy! wish i'd tried supa glue years ago. There was one that claims to be dishwasher safe ie it doesn't leach any toxins, and it is a gel, so that is the one I got.
chimera
out of the water though im picking so not good for setting on rocks that are fixed in place or cant be moved? or is it special underwater super glue?!
wasp
Yes the surfaces had to be dry, but I just towelled them they were still a bit damp, but it worked OK. Would be awesome if there was something like that could be used under water.
TM
chewing gum
wasp
May not be a silly idea  Used with something that encrusts quickly no doubt would do the job!
TM
Has been sugested before my someone, does work well though. You do need to sit it in a low flow are longer than supa glue or neadit.
HelifaxNZ
Wow thanks Bubbles for posting this movie. It's fantastic! It makes me cringe whenever he uses that tile cutter! Amazing how rough he is with the corals and yet they survive?! Right now to watch the next half of it.....
Duke
The super glue Eric is using is Locklite and you can get it from blackwoods (Pykels) and you keep it in the fridge.
