ghostface
heh.... not yet but i have a crap return pump [via aqua 4900] so looking to get something a bit more solid.
cookie extreme
don't know much about the smaller Iwaki's but mine (100) is very good but not quit. i would not recommed it to anybody to run under the tank inside the house. i would guess here that the smaller versions are not as noisy. and they are pretty (not the right word very is better) expensive if you buy them over the counter. KP
What sort of flow are you going for? Have you got multiple outlets?
TM
I have a sequence DART. Nice and quite, no problems at all. You can buy them from Aussie from www.reefonline.com .au ?
chimera
iwaki are quiet for a grunty external pump, but from your sump that is inside i'd recommend an eheim, say a 1262. quieter coz its under water too since my sump room is a floor down, i dont hear it. iwaki are awesome pumps, but in your case i would seriously consider a grunty eheim
ghostface
single outlet, but i could / need to push more through it. wouldnt mind a sqwd but would have to drill tank etc and its already up n running.... cant see the sequence pumps at that site, just iwakis, apparently with platinum magnets at that price TM where did you get yours? slappers
Eheim you just cant beat them IMO

TM
Grunty eheim? 4500ltr at the most is it not. Laguna 7 8500ltr (what i have) Sequence dart are about the same wattage as the eheim, cost is about the sam to. Go the dart, real quite
dogmatix
SCWD can be plumbed without drilling
Ira
IMO, the lagunas are the best bang for the buck. Not technically external though they'd probably work externally.
dogmatix
i run two laguna 7's exteranlly sweet as, but for reliability and longevity id go for reef sequence
