Billaney
what i do is feed up both fish for about 2 weeks , lots of live food / frozen bloodworm etc , set up a small tank just a degree warmer than there normal tank, place a strip of polystirine about 2-3cm wide accross the front of the tank for them to build a nest under. also place a few things in the tank for the female to hide in until the male has finished building the nest.... add fish and wait , withing two day there will be a nice nest with lots of eggs in it, 2 days later lots of very little fry. After there have done there thing i remove both parents, add a few leaves of crushed lettue for infersoria and a few drops of number 1 fry food. sit back and watch Has workd every time for me

Billaney
you can do the lettue thing in a bucket outside just to make the green water and add some as needed but i fine its not a problem. I'd use one female at a time to start with , i have done it with two but it seemed to confuse the male a bit, you know us males are easly confused
