suphew
They look kind of un-natural to me, how do they get 'new' species, does anyone know? Is this done by line breeding mutant fish, cross breeding different types of clowns, genetic tampering?? Not my cup of tea sorry.
Caryl
or photoshopped?
JoeBlog
I'm currently in the States for work and have visited a few LFS. There are heaps of different (weird) looking "farm raised" clown fish. I will have to ask the next time I'm there on how these "new" types come about, where they get them, etc... wasp
I guess breeding colour variations is OK, but to me, a marine tank is about looking as close to nature as possible. Hope they don't end up with anything like those boggle eyed goldfish, and other deliberate deformities, which I think is cruel.
trinity
You look at the different breeds of cats and dogs you can buy these days all it takes is a certain crossing of different colours and sometimes even a different breed and you get a new colour/breed. I would love to have a guided tour through Orafarm and see the process of tank breeding. Anything is better than depleting the ocean of the natural wonders we take for granted. KP
It looks like they have some sort of kronic white disease! lol I prefer the original
Feelers
Weird stuff seems to happen in farm raised animals - even normal clowns if raised from eggs will normally not have the last stripe just before the tail. They wont be GE. I rekon they look cool.
ghostface
It looks like they have some sort of kronic white disease! same as michael jackson i think... have seen some interesting looking ones in the LFS from time to time
KP
It looks like the splodges are pretty random. Wouldn't it only be a new breed if they all have the same pattern?
