Are these able to go into a Comm Tankies, or are they best in a tank of there own? Lynda the male has a more pointed dorsal fin and the female is more colourful. No there not to go into a community tank ( swordtails .plties etc ) or they will eat the lot. but can go in with a community of similar cichlids ( malawis ) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Conaquavict Posted April 11, 2006 Report Share Posted April 11, 2006 Paul i wouldn't add Cons with Malawis as they have completely different water requirements, and like you said not a community tank, But you can keep them with other medium aggressive SA cichlids if you have a big enough tank? just watch out for some fireworks when the Cons get into breeding mode as they will take on all comers in defense of their young.
