Poppy
I live out at the beach west of Palmerston North. In years gone by we used to have numerous tropical tanks, breeding set ups etc however lately reduced to pond goldfish. I have been giving serious thought to establishing a marine tank, something I have long wanted to do and am now casting about looking for information and contacts so I can research this properly rather than jump in boots and all & find its not for me. Palmerston North is our nearesr town and with 2 big pet/fish shops neither of them have marine setups or knowledge. I'm going to to wander off and have a look at your Marine forum it looks interesting and I look forward to being part of this community. Faran
I know it's a bit of a drive (about an hour each way) but the Paraparaumu fish shop has both experience and stock in Marine fish. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your time here! Be sure and check out the saltwater section if you're thinking about going Marine. Those guys are crazy but really keep some beautiful fish and tanks!
mustcooktea
Welcome along! The cost of marine scares me. The advice you get from the salties here will save you money though. Best wishes with your project. MCT

Poppy
Thank you all so much for a lovely welcome. Such a friendly and welcoming site, a pleasure to return to. Currently still planning the whole thing in my head. Reality might hit when I track down some prices as I have absolutley no clues even to ballpark figures yet.. I will however start with a second hand tank. That way I can get a better one that if I was buying new.........at least that is the theory.
