Help with silicon - Please

Hi Everyone.

I am about to silicon in the glass sides of my weir to the walls of my main tank. The weir dimensions are 290Lx150Wx580H.

My question is what is the ideal thickness of silicon between the edges of the weir glass and the tank wall. I am asuming you do not have the glasses butted hard up to each other.

I would really appreciate your comments.

Cheers

I am not sure I understand what you mean... :-?

I have re-siliconed a tank a few weeks ago and it went well! If you don't mind rephrasing your question I'll try to help :)

Thanks Kim & Dan and Lindyloo

Sorry about the terminology but I thought thats what you called the box thingy you have in the corner of the tank where the water runs over the top of and into the sump. It maintains the level in your tank.

I am new to this (as you have probably figured) but I was sure someone at the LFS called it that.

As it happens I have put it in this morning. I left about 1.5mm between the pieces of glass for the silicon, just enought so they don't touch.

Hope you can understand all of this.

Cheers
