foufee Posted January 31, 2006 Report Share Posted January 31, 2006 Hi, I'm in the middle of building a microprocessor based system that monitors temp, pH and light levels, and allows the control of heaters, Co2 solenoid, water changing solenoids, and two banks of lights. alanmin4304 Posted January 31, 2006 Report Share Posted January 31, 2006 I have a rena timer about 30 years old on one of my tanks. turns lights on and off,turns off airstone and feeds fish up to 4 times daily. Try going up to profile, just below the top advert banner above, click on that and fill in the field, six down in the profile section. Says Location or something like that. Will you be making this processor accessable away from the area, like overseas etc, so as you can do adjustments if possible? It wasn't that complicated Alan, it was just an automatic dosing system to treat the RO water to add the right balance of salts on the continuous waterchange system. foufee Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Share Posted February 2, 2006 The system is based on an AVR (www.atmel.com) 8 bit micro processor, the solenoids (water and Co2) have been canabalised from washing machines and an incubator (but they can be bought from various places around as components). The user interface is currently a 80x8 character LCD display, and the front panel from the incubator. The temperature sensors are 10 bit 1wire sensors, and the light levels are sensed using a LDR. I'm going to be using it for a freshwater system. At the moment, there are no plans to add internet connectivity to it (but it's not impossible). Oh, I've also filled in where I am (the Wairarapa).
