minchton
Well I havent had the time to come on this site for some weeks but wish I had made the time and read this posting. I had the misfortune to be away late on monday night and returned home to find my tank was sitting on 32c. Rushed down to the local garage 10.30pm and purchased a large bag of ice, which I floated in the tank. Unfortunately this was too late. The tank which I was so proud of because everything in it was growing well is now a total disaster. I have lost over half of my corals including a large leather (8in across) an anenome, and numerous other leathers. Never did I imagine that the temperature in Taranaki would ever get so hot that I would have to take the precautions that you Jaffas have to. Dont anybody ever say it is cold in Taranaki. Now I am totally paranoid about temperature and probably check the tank temperature every hour.

skuzza
I wish but it is not that much every day it depends on the weather. At the moment i have to full my 200L drum up twice a week and always left with half to a quater in the bottom.300 to 350L a week.My tank is in the wall and goes out into the garage which has a skylight roof and it gets dam hot out there. For some reason it has always used more evap being out there. My light does not come on till 3pm and the sun starts coming in strong about 9am now.It could be the combo of the sun and the heat.It looks awsome with the natural sun light especially in the morning.
