I brought mine from Jansens in 2002, when yellow tangs were $200.00ea and no coral was under $100.00. Prices have changed in recent years, particualary with JetSkiSteve importing and helping keep prices in check.

As for being riped? Thanks for pointing that out. Why did you ask or did you just want to riducle people who paid more than you? pfft.

It kind of annoys me when I read that. The primary reason why prices in Auckland are no longer as high as they were is because Petworld in Christchurch are no longer supplying them. That was the cause of the high prices seen up there a few years ago.

Both Alois and Steve have helped bring prices down to match other areas (Christchurch in particular). But the insinuations I read on this forum seem to credit Steve/Nick single-handedly for the price drops in Auck over the last few years, I don't think that's true at all.

Layton - I've watched prices drop significantly since Steve/Nick have been importing. Maybee there are more factors in it than just them I don't know but things have never been so good as they are are now since I started buying stuff in 2000. There are threads on this site with comments from people (you) saying that ultimatly it will be bad from the hobby. So far its all good, I am certainly enjoying the great prices and as far as Steve/Nick are concerned an improvement in quality too.

However I must add this comment, Australians at large are in no way shape or form associated with that idiot, Research into his username found that his relatives were not that bright and actually paid to be on the original convict ships thinking they could start a new life in Austria.

However I must add this comment, Austrians at large are in no way shape or form associated with chimera, research into chimeras fnzas posts found that they were highly intellectual although had a strange, uncanny and extremely bizzare sense of humour. Chimera is really a pure bred kiwi.

News to me. Never seen a yellow tang for $200. Many corals were under $100 in 2002. I have price lists to confirm this.

Actually prices have not really come down. More to do with the high USD. So make the most of it as forecast is for the USD to drop.

Do you really think the others would have lowered their price without us?

so funny it would be a waste of time to comment.
