ajbroome
Folks, I took some quick photos of my tank yesterday using Peter Sebborns Nikon CoolPix 950 and they now live on my Oxalis site. Photos were taken during the day so there is some reflection on the glass, at some stage I'll get some better ones. Thanks to Ang for the HTML Have a look at: http://www.oxalis.50megs.com/tank.html Comments are welcome. Andrew.
Aqua
What're the dimensions AJ? Looks great!
Caryl
Nice pics Andrew. I see you have the same tank stand as the one in my computer room Concrete blocks work very well - pity they aren't a bit lighter though!

cat
Wow ... I am amzed it looks so good after only a short time up and running!! Don't the Angels look lovely! They didn't look as nice in my tank Very nice tank though Andrew. Looks like you and me are about the only ones left with Community Tanks in the club now! (That I know of anyway). Caryl
What have other club members got?
cat
Seems to be a mass amount of cichlids in our area. All beautifully done and well worth looking at but not too many of them like the Community type tanks. I like the cichlid tanks but I seem to have started with community and am staying that way for now. Besides I am actually 'making' money from my Angels now so that is really good. Sold 30 over the weekend and ended up getting my air compressor so I can look at getting rid of all the individual air pumps I have. Brilliant!!! Most of them are only a few months old so I will try and sell them on once we have the compressor all setup.

Caryl
Welcome to The Fishroom john1945. How about introducing yourself in the welcome section and telling us what fish you have?
john1
Hi Caryl I don't think I need an introduction. I am known all over the world as John1. Only at Boronia Forum I am known as John1945. Someone is using my nickname. The reason I chose John1945 is because John1 was already taken. And 1945 is the year I was born in. So, something fishy is going on. Caryl
So which one is the real John? This could get confusing!

ajbroome
Folks, Took some photos over the last few days of the community tank and its inhabitants using my relatively new Canon A40. They can be found (along with the old ones) at: http://www.oxalis.50megs.com/fish/tank.html Comments, as always, are welcome. Any one have an ID on the crypt? I think it came from Rob...? Andrew. Caryl
Beaut pics Andrew. My guess for the crypt would be C. axelrodii but I am not a plant person.

ajbroome
Pauly said... > ... plants and fish all look very healthy and happy The plants aren't as happy as I'd like. Some do well, other (such as swords for some reason) are not looking as good as they should. The fish are much happier since I got rid of their Camallanus worms. Saved a few baby angels from the batch of eggs in the pictures. They should be free-swimming today. The Emperor tetras are spawning and I'm waiting for the Bolivian Rams to have another go so I can nab the eggs. Andrew.
Midas
Did you end up finding some levamisole?
ajbroome
Midas said... > Did you end up finding some levamisole? Yep. Len Trigg in Hamilton organised some from his vet. I've got enough to do another treatment of the tank if I ever need it. The one treatment knocked back the worms pretty quickly and I've seen no sign of re-infestation. The only casualty was a red-tailed shark which keeled over within a couple of hours. Don't know if they are sensitive to the drug or what but it might be something to bear in mind if anyone else is planning a similar treatment. Andrew.
