Copper
Just a couple of questions regarding paradise fish... - Are they really cold water fish? ie they don't need a heater? - What would be suitable tank mates for one paradise fish (would like a male, but think I can only get females) in a 40L tank? - Are paradise fish fussy eaters? Any general comments about this fish would be appeciated as well. Thanks in advance!
Alan
Paradise fish can be quite aggresive little fellas, so be careful what you put them with. The males can also go hard on the females as well. Yes, you are correct, they don't need a heater, but a rise in temperature will improve the chance of breeding them. Not too sure if I'd winter them outside tho, especially where you are, compared with where I am. They are a bubble nester similar to the betta, so once the spawning is over, remove the female, Dad will do the work. Alan
Copper
I don't plan on breeding them anytime soon. I don't have any tank space for fry. Do you think a type of barb or danio would be suitable with the paradise fish? If so, what ones?
