Jimmy
Well i was thinking of upgrading my tank, but only using my 150 watt MH. And was wondering if anyone has done it and if it looks nice or not.
slappers
well i think it would look stink lol but by all means upgrade and give it ago prove me wrong. its not hard
Brianemone
i think it would look ok for children but for most adult people the whole point of a reef tank is to bring a bit of nature into the living room (or closet) if you could find a realistic shipwrek and grow mushrooms on it then you might be able to pass it off
slappers
so you are saying its OK for special jimmy but not OK for adults

slappers
500 to 600 all depends on what you want to keep
slappers
its ok jimmy brian will understand you working today
Brianemone
you can go as tall as you want, but only to a certain depth will the light penetrate to a point where you will be able to keep most corals. some corals like blastomussa' dont like alot of light anyway and suncorals are not photo synthetic so there are stocking options for the parts lower down as well. it all comes down to what size tank you want
cookie extreme
don't laugh, but i was playing with the idea of creating part of a wreck ( i have a porthole with all fittings recovered from a wreck site). also got some pretty nice pic's from wrecks looking into the hull. so still playing with the idea of recreating that same look, but for my part it should look real and not toyish jo-joing divers or the like. Jimmy
Yip Slappers i did go to work today. Back now. Sounds like a good plan Cookie, it would be interesting to see what it looks like.
Ira
I've seen a shipwreck themed tank, it looked really good. Not using those pos little shipwreck ornaments, he had pots, coins and stuff you'd expect to find scattered around a shipwreck.
Jimmy
Would you have to be carefull about what metals you put in your tank?
