PENEJANE
Ok I am going to appologise first for keeping peoples hopes up. Looks like I have been sucked in by the LFS once again ( then again whats new with Liz!! ) The chillers that she told me would be 1/3 of the price have finaly come in. 100ltr tank = $741.10 Designed to drop 8 degrees 300ltr tank = $915.50 500ltr tank = $1211.90 1000ltr tank = $1743.80 My husband was there with me at the time and he to said that Liz said that they were to be about $200 which is 1/3 of the normal price but the prices she gave me today don't even look like they are 1/3 off the normal selling price!!! So once again sorry guys. BTW my cold water marine tank is up and running. I just got to get the pictures off the camera uploaded to the computer. I have two crabs, some large cats eye snails, two triple fins and one glass shrimp. Totaly awesome
Feelers
Hey dont worry about it PeneJane, thanks for trying , it's unfortunate that you were told incorrect info. I rang them up to see what the story was(and complain ) , apparantly they were to have chillers for 10L tanks that sold for $200. It sounds as though the chiller company misled them, and now the pet shop will be selling them under the rrp. She was quite helpful, even when I put her on the spot. 8) The chiller brand is "Heilia" , and I cant find anything on the net about them (even though google suggested -"Did you mean: heilia chillers") when I spelt it wrong. Glad your coldwater tank is going - did you end up buying the chiller from them?

PENEJANE
no no chiller for my salt tank yet. But I noticed when I had the small 19ltr tank setup it sat at 20-22*C. Once it hit 24 I then added ice packs and it chilled down to 19-20 again. They all seem to be doing ok at this temp but I am hoping to get my husbands arse of his computer game and get to work on the so called promised chiller that he was going to attempt to make up. So I will let yous know how that goes (if it goes at all! lol) Cheers :bounce:
suphew
Do you have a fan or two running over the tank? This will drop the temp by a couple of degrees
wasp
Don't worry nobody thought it could be done anywhere close to $200.00 I just asked cos I wanted to see how the real price would end up.

seahorsemad
Hi Pennyjane suggest maybe running a fan over the tank full time. It will keep the temps down a little and freezing salt water in ice trays can pull the temp down as well. (just dont mix the salt water trays with the fresh water trays cause partners and guests dont really understand when you get the two mixed up) Good luck Seahorsemad
